I was checking everyone's engine bay's and only found one with abs brakes why is that. is there a diff.... I see mine also as?
Not even the turbo car's have it unless it sit's else

or is that not abs I don't see why we should be upgrading the brake's

Firstly, ABS and cruize control are common overseas. Most owners choose to rip them out.
ABS is found on some Alltracs but not on the JDM GT4's, your car is the 1st
JDM ST16x I've seen with ABS, something we thought wasn't available in Japan till now.
Never seen a JDM car with cruize control either - however ABS, TEMS is very common on the JDM ST18x.
All JDM ST20x's have ABS but once again no cruize control, dunno if it has something to do with JDM licencing.

Each progressive model came with brake impovements (because they got heavier),
there is nothing wrong with the stock brakes for average driving but they are prone to fading and boiling in competition use.
I'd like to fit ST205 brakes (for the bigger disks) but I hear they can be mushy until warmed properly
Brake upgrades are a touchy subject, powerfull brakes in the wrong hands on a wet road
can be worse than no brakes at all, once again I say the stock brakes are more than adeaquate
for the average driver in normal conditions.

Exhaust header looks like Hotshot or Pacesetter versions?, pity the firing order is wrong

thanks for info Kevin maybe because it's an 89 model only abs no cruise control the header's is that the banana branche
you speaking about what do you mean by the firing order is wrong and it's a pitty?I will have to find out if there is anything else thats not the same.

88 has a horizontal rear wiper, 89 has a vertical rear wiper. Dunno what yours is as the wiper is missing.

Firing order is 1-3-4-2, the branch pipes are supposed to go into the collector in that order for
    max scavenging & power.
On those it's 1-4-3-2 but still an improvement over the cast (heavy as..) stock items.

Brakes - the GT4's were raced in the production class of the WRC as well so they needed the best brakes
they could find at a reasonable price for the production versions.
On the group A cars money was no object and custom shocks and huge AP/Brembo's were used.

The AT160's and early 4 bolt 1S/2S/3SFE cars appear to have Corrolla brakes fitted while ours were equavalent to the heavier Camry.
The 202 brakes are equivalent to the V6 Camry while the GT4's are overkill on all models.

I let Rahul drive TEMS a while back (V6 m/cyl & GT4 brakes) and he was most impressed by the power
of the brakes as they took some getting used to. It does mean I have to be extra carefull in the wet tho
but on the track they were faultless.

There is an Italian guy in old Alberton selling an adjustable brake pressure regulator which allows you to
tune your brakes sothat they can't lock, wish I could find him

Mine is a 1989. In the UK, the 86 - 88 had A/C as standard and by 89, it was substituted with ABS.

I see know with what you mean on the branch and you are correct Kev they are pacesetter's I will keep that as is it's all good for me and rear wiper will have to check on that as well it's stripped for now.I will ask manny's trick's for that regulator for you.And celicasteve I Know what you mean on those year model diff....But mine still has Air-con and everything else as well just no cruise-control it's what we call a fullhouse around here.A/C,P/S,C/L,E/W,ABS,E/M,E/S,ALARM,And Anti Hijack AND ONE more small thing will still have to confirm first what it is when i started her up yesterday there was a light that came on,on the cluster at bottom side of it which I never had seen in my life but only when ignition was swicted on then went off after she started I will take picture of it tomorrow when get back to work.

Means you smoked your cat - lol

It's a cat temp warning light, check you car has a cat converter
If not theres a sensor under the gearlever which goes into the cat, afaik only the JDM's have
    this.
You may find the sensor lying on top of the exhaust like I have on a few cars

If youy don't have a cat you can just unplug the sensor, plug is near the gearlever base

Here's 2 I removed, one had already been at by a previous owner
