yep trim is like that. and is original to the car. ?

-springs are eibach drops so should be good. t-stat is new and good and timing is dead on.
-im thinking its something fuel related, either a pump, fpr, or csi system issue. runs good but is getting tough to start. ign system is all new aswell. pulled the covers off today and the inside of the head looks great, everything has oil and is very clean. gonna re-check torque tomorrow, and install the nicer set of covers i have. then ill start on the fuel system and tvis checks.

thats what i thought. i guess im confused as to why the gt-s has it. no mount holes for the normal trim either.

-heat wrap showed up so mani should be fitted tomorrow. and all new suspension stuff sould be here by sat. :mrgreen

-i havent driven it yet as im still need to wrap and install the new mani. but should be done tomorrow. i removed the old heat shield brackets and gave it a high temp copper coating before the wrap so i dont have clean steel waiting to rust underneath everything. tomorrow ill wrap and recoat the wrap. hopefully ill have enough time to drop it at midas to have the connection done. pic is before coating, ill be sure to grab some more.

-i know own the loudest 4cylinder within 25 miles. :byodood :byodood.

-went and got an all new system. 2.25in. cat delete. so it has 1 small magnaflow resonator (maybe 8in) and a magnaflow straight through muffler. it looks great, and the idle is fantastic. it sounds like a v-8 idle. but at about 1500rpm the rasp comes in hard. this is really what i dreamed 09 would sound like, and i really like it on on ramps, but man its a bit too much for around town, i cant even keep it quiet w/o stalling.

-i think ill have em add another resonator next week.

-pics, and a vid this weekend. im off to work a late one tonight and will be sleeping all day tomorrow but ill get one i promise.

-i applied the high temp coating before and after the wrap since i did some grinding on it.

-in car. im not super happy with the way i did the collectors (all in 1) but im about 3 ft short on wrap to make it right. it'll have to do since i aint coughing up the dough for another roll. added a universal 02 behind the collector, you can see the orange wire going to it. ill hide/rework it later.

-muffler and tips.


sometime this week i think im gonna swap the reasonator (8in) out for like a 30in one. i promise ill take a before vid though. its super uncomfortable to drive around worrying about getting pulled over for your insanely loud exhaust. i wouldnt mind if i wasnt going to make it a daily.

-stig, the way the bracket is bent it should sit to the inside of the alt mount....atleast on mine. so i think there both the same just different mounting.

-ok so since ive been driving it ive had a hard start issue. cranks great, just takes 10 or 20 cranks and was getting worse. the filter is brand new and the injectors are freshly remanned, so i knew it wasnt those. borrowed a fuel pressure test kit from auto-zone, and found out the fuel pressure regulator was stuck open or otherwise internally broken. good thing i have spares.
-ive also narrowed down the fuel gauge to the gauge itself (i think) but dont feel like taking it apart today. i think i need atleast a month between interior disassemblys.

-gonna go run it for a bit, im hoping the fpr helps with what has been a very very mild...hesitation....feels like its winding up through medium revs. the exhaust smells different now, not as rich. so i think it was just running rich.

-also i think im gonna keep the exhaust the way it is. everyone keeps teeling me its not as loud as i think. so maybe just super loud in the car. been trying to get a video up but it keeps screwing up halfway through the upload. sounds really crappy on the video anyway, think its the mic, so i might try the ole ladys new camera as it records in stereo.
