Ok guys some good news, I have re wired the fuel pump now on a new relay not in the cars original wiring. Makes the car run now lol.
have been having lots and lots of trouble with the starter motor, ever since I changed the box over and put the different starter motor, it's always had a mind of its own. The car could have 12v and the starter will click but won't engage and rotate. So a friend of my. Told me to an upgrade on the wires! I'm like nah that would be heaps shit. TOo many wires to trace. Then he said no still use the starter wire but give the starter more power off a relay so it get direct power. I'm like oooooo that's sounds like a plan, so did that. And of course the problem I've had for about 3 years is now fixed isn't it. So that made me just a biT happier about the car.

So all I really have left now is to, get my race seat wielded into the car. Get the harness into the right locating. And give this bitch a good tune at the track.

wait...you didn't have the starter relay mod? it's pretty much well spread out on the forums and is something all 4th gens and 5th gens should have as soon as you get your hands on it!

thanks mate.. been a bit slow again as we are going to be moving house soo, but in stead of the car being outside the car will finally be under the house in a garage (SO FUCKING HAPPY). so things will happen quicker now because i can take my daughter downstars with me, instead of outside now. so i should i repeat i should be allowed to work on my car now lol

actually mafix you might be able to give me an answer...... do you think oil squirters gain anything in the 3s/ 5s motors? i have some squirters from something that will fit in an S block and my father inlaw and i can put them in. but i really want to know if there is actually any benifit to fitting them????

yeh, i mean some people haven't had any problems, but as soon as you have a problem with the starter cranking at any condition, the relay mod should be the first fix. 99% of the time, it solves any problems.

-its funny, I've never had a problem with it. and yep it looks like kind of a pain. lol.

yeah no vids still hasnt been moved since i got the new computer in it lol. once i move house ill get it running good and get a good vid of it.

yeah the starter was a pain. i would get in the car and it would start. i would drive some were and then leave the car. and i would come back to it and it would not even cranks... pissed me right off.

i think the squirters are more of a secure=ity/high power item. by all means if you can get them installed then do it. but i head it's a nightmare on the 5s block. also to note:the common 5s used is the 1998+. i believe yours is much older correct?still on a stock bottom end right?

My bottom end is out of a 96 celica. Yeah completely stock. Am just about to start building a new motor with better gear soon

ok so small update. since the last time i posted ive done a few things with the car, ive played around with alot of settings on the computer and i will be using a few feachers like launch control, flat shifting, and push to pass. but first things first i still have to get it tuned. ove the last few days ive been out to the car to just turn it on and let it wind over for a while. but i havent been able to get the car to even ignite it will krank fin but just will not start. i think i may have changed some features in the computer or something, but i will nut that out when i have the time or once we move into our new house.

on the + side i finally got my seat in and perminantly located. with my harness in as well

also im not sure if i mentioned or not but i had been looking to start a new motor. i ended up finding a new bottom end, and i already have spare heads. im only looking at rebuilding it as a stock motor but with most ARP gear i can put in. ther only reason im staying fairly stock is i cant afford to pay the money for new rods and new pistons to mach the head. that will be something i will have to save for. but like i said for the mean tim i just want to build a fresh new motor to race on and tune it with

heres the head after i gave it a quick pressure clean

this is after i put it in an alloy tub

this was the day i got the block home. i already had the block apart about 40 minutes after i got there.

i also got the block put in a tub as well. it went into the tub on the 15th of december and i only got it out on sunday night, so it spent a good month in the tub.
this was just a picture i took of it which doesnt really show how clean it is
    [IMG]

this is the block with the ARP mains in

and this is just with the head on just cause i felt like it

Haha yeah it is a bit. The biggest problem is I just don't have much time. After the second weekend in march I will because we are moving and my car will be located inside in my own garage.

I purchase my new pistons last week and they should be here today or tomorrow. I will be purchasing main and big end bearings this week and will be starting to measure up the gaps and making sure it's all good to go. Give the block a good hone. And I should have it together by next week :fingersx then all I have to do is start organizing the head.

ok so some good things have happened, finaly got the car started yasterday after trouble with maps and ignition. just took it for a slow put today up the back street of home and got to witness the speed reading on the laptop from the computer. which means launch control and flat shifting are a go [IMG]

my friend took some pictures because i was being an arse but they came out alright, i guess you can say its starting maybe just a little to look like a race car lol
    dont mind the mess
