I reckon your compression is much to hi for the piston to look like that I have had the same problem before
    on diff... motor thou

the full story of how that motor got so blown is that when my friend was driving it home the bearings went so he towed it a friends. so he called the prev. owner and he said that oil pressure went a few times in the city and that he rebuilt that motor 80k ago. but the pistons/cyl. head got destroyed the next day when he got mad at it and riped it as fast as it could (with no rev limiter) and during most of it the valves where floating since the revs where so high.

That piston hit something hard (the head), there are no marks on the valves to indicate it was valves.
Turn the cams to see if valves are bent, pour water into the ports to test for valves leaking

By the look of it #4 rod is bent, looks like a bend 3/4 of the way up - pic?

My guess is your "friend?" ran a bearing and kept going till the piston hit the h/gasket/head -
which then destroyed the piston and the piston then took revenge on the rest of the motor.
He couldn't have driven any further even though he tried, it must have been making an afwful racket!

#4 crank journal will be KO'd as well

Can't see that #4 bearing in the dark but I guess it's pretty much gone, the bearing
is around 1mm thick, once gone the piston is free to bash away at the head

I don't think the story of over-revving the motor had any effect whatsoever, it ran OK after that?
Motor doesn't look like 80K, pistons look newish but there's too much carbon around and it looks like
it was running on oil or the ex valves would be white on 1-3.

it didn't run well at all to get it started it had to be at full throttle, valves are deff bent (only in the number 4 piston). im going by what he told when he sold me the car i knew that the engine was blown before i bought it as he also told me that it was a jdm motor/ transaxel and that owner before him rebuilt 80k ago. the longest i had it running was 15ish seconds. but now my motor that swapped in dosen't start i think its the bateery so it shouldn't be too expensive but with my luck it probly wont.

so i tried to start up the celica yester but there are sevral probelms
    1. There is very little/no spark going from the coil to the distrubutor ( i know have new plug)
    2. when i turn the key to on (not start) and the temprature goes all the way to the red ( is there a sensor on the block? i cant find any)
    3. it shows no oil pressure...i think its just disconnected but with my luck its probely something much more serious then a unpluged sensor.

okay after i finish project 2s-ge i am either going to
    a) get a cdm 1st gen 3sge from a junk yard and build up the top end and convert it to jdm spec aka remove the egr and o2 with a hks 4-2-1 header and of couse a jdm ecu.
    b) get a 3rd gen 3sge off ebay

as of right now im leaning toward the first gen idea cuz when you buy a engine off ebay you have no idea what your getting into.

i have the timing right its just not getting any fuel (it wants to start)so im going to swap my gts injectors and hope that it fixes the starting problem. btw it no no longer backfiring and misfiring like crazy.

UPDATE:3sge ecu numbers are 20160 also i heard that the shimless buckets from a 1zz-fe fit on a 3sgte. can anyone verify this and if so is it possible to do on a 3sge. The 3sge has the numbers grinded off of the cams so i suspect that they are regrinds.

    yes, they fit a 3sge!

that is awesome its a much easier(and cheaper) way of having high lift cams on a first gen 3sge(with uprated valve springs and titanium valve retainers). i cant wait till i have my 3sge head swap ready
