WOW! what a reply! gives a guy motivation to do more!
    Thanks ;)

Thats no problem at all... im guessing your on about the headlight squirters right? I have most tge bits off the car so theres no problem in getting them for you and laying them out. its a simple enough system the most important part is the switch inside. i dont know if your loom would have the wiring or not... But ill get some snaps!

It's known by many names but that's what I've been using (see prev pics) together with fish oil for inaccessable areas for a long time now, the acid type convertors simply don't work as well and for your area I'd skip the etch primer and reach for iron oxide primer instead.
Only problem with this convertor is it's a real BE-ACH to sand (as you will find), and also not cheap

30yrs ago I asked some roofers why they were using it and they said that not only did it kill the rust but it also sealed gaps and didn't wear off either

One word of warning - DO NOT use it on parts you want to powder coat - the plastic will bubble and burn and ruin your powder coat

I find its a soft enough finish to same down, there's no real issues there, Its scored the best out of all available rust converters on the market.... But yes its not cheap at €40 a liter, but can be diluted up to 50% so that's a plus. I'm still going to lay down the etch primer because it will eat into any parts ive missed with the FE-123, then im going to lay down a non-porus primer on top of that and then paint for a 100% rust proof finish, the etch primer will also get into places i cant with seam sealer so should help! plus its no harm to put it down to be fully sure about killing rust...

i cant see myself doing much powder coating so that aint a worry, going to get some heavy grade agri primer and paint for all the parts so they will be shinning new again! after i clean them down in kerosene then panel wipe obviously... :p

i dont know if i posted this yet but i got a new / old tool box for carrying my tools around with me, its a 1982 bomb shell carrier from the irish army! and all my tools fit perfectly inside, Looks really really cool i must say and i get some funny looks when doing jobs with a bomb box... Lol!!

the last week ive been very sore so progress is slow, but i cleaned down the previous battery area and you can see how the rust converter works wonders on open fresh steel.

    After half an hour:

you can see all the welds have turned black and there is now a prefect painting clean surface over them for primer! More progress later! :wink

I did a bit more today, its quiet hard work making sure everything is clean in a 20 year old engine bay, Im using kerosene (parrifin) to clean off all the heavy dirt before i put on the rust converter. It has no problems at all shifting the dirt so im happy out , Im also using the air dremil with a wire wheel attachment head on it to clear off the surface rust before i clean it down fully, It takes a lot of time going through the stages but at least this way im sure it wont rust again. and should stand the test of time for much longer. i only managed to get the passenger chassis rail , behind the headlight and the slam panel done and the amount of rust thats hidden under the paint is shocking!!

Good you're doing it now!, did you find rust around the rear light vents? looks like those are prone to rusting badly

You still got the black car?

It had a very bad winter and got a dent in the back also... But it could have been much more worse....

Im trying my best to do it as much as i can, im bed ridden at the moment in pain so theres not much i can do.... My black celica is at my old working garage were i did most of my training, Hopefully its still there.

How is the middle piece between the seats? And the part where the radio is in? Also the backpanels, all of these in my car are sprayed brown pieces ;). Is this a pre of post facelift model?? Because if it is PRE facelift I want the black seatbelts :p

I know it's a RHD car, but all parts I mentioned are not RHD or LHD related I think.
