Update on headlamps project: - Autopal lights are on the way, already arrived to my country yesterday. Couple more days and I should receive them. - Picked up some goodies from Toyota today (adjusting bolts, grommets, springs, and an outer bracket) - I started with removing rust from the inner brackets: - Then came the ground coat: - Finally 5 layers of PlastiDip: Finally I see things moving on, after so much sitting and waiting.
Thanks I will post pics from another parts coated with it. No, it's very illegal here to use other than plain H4 bulbs, if that's the oem for the given car :S I'll buy a pair of OSRAM Nightbreaker H4 bulbs, as I read they are quite good.
Good news! I've been to the mechanic I was telling about. The guy is the number one Celica guru in my country. Very nice person, loves cars and loves what he's doing. - He installed the Goodridge brake hoses and the ST185 master cylinder, pedal feel is great now! It turned out that my old one was leaking in the inside, so it had to be replaced anyways. Told him that I think the brake line can be bent to make it fit on the RHD MC, but he rather made me some new lines - I feared that my drive shafts and/or differential is acting up, but he ensured me that they are okay. Only thing I need to replace is the bearing that holds the longer drive shafts (the one that Stig mentioned before, he was right about that ) - He also told me that the whining noise I've been hearing (btw, it was quiet since it was sprayed, but came back on monday once I left the highway after 100kms) is caused by a rubber dust cover at the wheel bearing, but I couldn't find it on toyodiy yet - I could reach the exhaust guy today, and agreed that I can take the car to him next weekend He's making a full custom 76mm system for another Celica right now, once it's ready I'm next. Bad news: - After I arrived and had to park the car to a different spot, it didn't start :S I didn't hear the click when I turned the key, so I think it's rather the ignition switch then the starter motor. It was started numerous times after that, without any problem.
yep it definately does. my car hates it if its been turned off then try to start it again when its still a alil warm. the starter says no dice
Woot for the new exhaust and repairs. Pictures when the time comes. plus now i'm worried about my starter :ugh
how much are those head lights? i want a pair. the only ones on ebay are the ones that are clear. i want the OEM look with my HIDS. they would be undercover HIDS sorry to stray
THAT explains why my keys get so hot after starting it up for a short period of time... And here I thought I was just imagining stuff... :byodood
Another job done with Plasti dip: Look at the nice "clean" rain we had... ST185 MC installed with new brake lines to make the RHD MC fit: I know, I know, engine bay is dirty, but I'm too afraid about water going to unwanted places to wash it
I took my spare headlamp motor today, and with that, all parts are here, and ready for the swap! Maybe I can do it on sunday, after WTCC. Tomorrow I go to finally finish up the exhaust, wish me luck! My brother got a new camera recently and I planned for a long time to make some decent pics with a decent camera, so I took the car to the carwash, and told him to meet me in one of the park houses. Sadly he had to leave and left the camera to me, and since it had a million buttons and settings that I didn't have time to figure out, I just set it to automatic and made the shots. Colors are messed up, but they are not bad a first try Next time I'll let my brother do the shots
Enjoyed your pics, but a little dark in places........so I've given you an excuse to go and do some more shots ........hmm ?......don't like the sound of this :ugh :hehe
