That sucks...I killed a rat and a wild rabbit with my celica and I cant stop thinkin about it the day it happened ops :mrgreen
These are all bad experiences and feelings. My brother once hit a quite large dog, front windscreen got smashed. An other time, he hit a deer while I was sitting next to him. It was coming out from nowhere, at night, and we were doing 80kph :S Front grill broken, hood dented, right side popup lamp got bended backwards :S
I'm starting to hear strange noises from the exhaust, again. Looks like the magnaflow catalityc converter wasn't a good choice. Others at the MR2 BEAMS forum told the same. The current one is the third cc that my engine ate up, so I'm gonna need to search for an OEM one, because it worked the best so far, and I was stupid enough to not keep mine :banghead
Metal core is okay on a turboed car, but it will make an NA car much louder. Maybe I'm getting old, but I don't want my car to be any louder
Finally had the time to swap the left hand door handle. Gave it a nice cleaning before the swap, now it's beautiful, like it's new: Turned out all the nuts were damaged on the old one, even the one that holds the lock. One was a bitch because it kept turning over and over, I needed some help to get the bolt out from it. Next project will be renewing the front seats, they deserve it for long now. And some other plasti dip goodies as my time allows
BEHOLD THE POWER OF PLASTI DIP!!! I had some time at the weekend, we had a beuatiful time so I took a last shot this year with plasti dip. Targets were the faded, old weather strips around the roof and trunk. Masking took about two hours for my girlfriend and me: Some before / after pics:
Nice!!! Did you have to sand or anything before using plastidip? I need to do the same thing with my car, but the black stuff has been flaking off.
Nothing like that, because the surface was flat all around, just faded and kind of damaged looking. I just cleaned it to avoid bubbles and to let PlastiDip adhere properly.
I love it ! Good work  Preparation was essential in this operation and you had a dedicated Celicasistant ..............that actually looks like a proper word :roll
Some nice professional pics from one of our local club member's car: http://hybridphoto.fw.hu/?p=120 One of best (if not the best) condition oem ST162 in my country.
Friday was my lucky day... I was going to wash the Celi and pick up my girlfriend, and on a quite crowded road the traffic suddenly jammed up before me in a crossing. The car before me braked hard, I had to brake hard too, but managed to stop quite comfy behind him (ST185 brakes rulez). Then I heard from the back, that the car following me barely stopped with locked up wheels. Then I heard a crash noise. Than another. And another. Meanwhile I quickly moved closer to the car before me, hoping that the people behind me won't push each other on my back. There was not much that I could do, so I just watched the mirrors and hoped for the best hnoes I wasn't hit, and as the traffic started again before me, I slowly started too and pulled to side of the road. I saw in the mirrors that the cars behind were doing the same, they seemed to handle it quite intelligently. I didn't feel myself guilty, and thought that it was just ordinary runup with broken front and rear bumpers, nothing serious, so I decided to move along. Following distance proved again to be very very important to keep. It's a very basic rule too, that I always keep myself to, and I think it helps avoiding a lot of similar incidents. On the way back, police and emergency vehicles were already there, but as I read in the news, there were no serious injuries. We saw with my girlfriend, that three cars behind me were on the side of the road, barely injured, but there was another three cars more behind with more serious damage, the three cars looked like they were welded together. That's a total of six cars crashed directly behind me...
