Well Well Well I picked up a rust free one today. Yes totally and utterly rust free and no signs of being repaired. All it needs is a decent clean and sprayed white. Got it for $70 only!!!

Even though it wasn't rusted, decided to give a a coat of kill rust of both sides. Ill sand it back next weekend and paint both sides in fish oil. Then buy some white primer and spray it all over, because incase it rusts the fish oil and kill rust should stop it.
Ohh and close ups of those stickers should be posted soon.

You're Mega Lucky!, 3 yrs and I'm still looking

Good move with the rust, now to do the rest of the car before it disolves
    into brown dust

That's where I am with my "new" body, hard work but I want it looking good in 20 yrs

And Santa Claus is real !

I'd believe that when I see a picture of the sunroof with the rubber weather strip removed and a closeup shot of the lip of the sunroof. See following pics for example.

Without the weather strip removed this would qualify as a rust free sunroof (best one I've ever seen)

Once the weather strip is removed the ugly truth is revealed

Hope I'm wrong and you truely do have a rust free sunroof but the weather strip is a poor design and means that the lip of the sunroof is in a rubber channel and that channel is a great holder of water, add to that the fact that the sunroof itself is made of 2 pieces of metal bonded together. Unfortuneatly the 2 panels were bonded and then painted meaning that things like the inside surfaces of the 2 pieces of metal on the lip are unprotected metal and that is where the rust always starts. By the time you see rust on the top of the sunroof its garanteed that the lip was where it started unless you get a rock chip.

mine didn't have a rubber and I have looked within the bracket thingos with a torch and cant see none either. Ill probably just end up buying a new one of toyota, When the footy season is over, im going to do the whole boot in kill rust, and sand it and then spray it with some anti rust spray paint, you can get it a few colors. GOING FOR MY L's to soon YAY! even though I have to have a fully licensed driver, I don't care. Ohh and I got a free subwoofer friday night. Its alpine and has 100rms(which is plenty for me), it was used for only 2 months. Now I'm looking for a decent set of 5.25" speakers. Just going to replace those Crappy Blapunkt 6x9 with like 15rms and use my Boss ones for now. Then later on I might invest in some Alpine 6x9's

Nice car! :) I didn't even know that such edition is existing. I'm learning very much from this site :)

Btw, it's strange that those seats are so rare in Australia. In Europe they are stock in the GT-s (3SGE) and only the ST-s (4AGE) has the non-electric seats.

They are the same as the JDM seats too, but the colour and material is unique.

Here's more bad news for sunroof owners -

seems they didn't treat the roof area behind the sunroof either

I have never seen one althought that would be ideal. Got 1 of them in my camry.

The EPC only lists 1 part number
    [IMG]

Once I get my GTS I got a glass aftermarket sunroof I might put in it.

yea cause whats the point of having it when you cant see through it. at least thats what i think. it would make the car look more agressive too.

I have complete sunroof mech spare, idea was to transfer it to the tems but after seeing
how the roofs rust and the weight (+-40lb) I've decided the biggest baddest glass roof will
    do just fine.

    inb4 thread revival
Well the years have passed and my beast is finally registered and RWC'd.
Here is how the st162 is as of today,
Still much more to come, .. Ozracing WRC wheels, Perhaps lowered, 30mm.
The shift area before, with the skull and blue crap, has been reverted to black with a basic black knob. I have no idea what I was thinking Lol :p
