I'm still undecided but I'm thinking about taking it off the road and just work on it when I have the money, I was looking at 2-3k most likely, don't know if that's too pricey but yeah.
If I was to get another car i'd be using a lancer for a while , whilst I save.
But if I decide to let this thing go I might get a supra rz or something :/ After I save
    Not too sure yet!

    thats not too pricey.
How come you would beed to take the car off the road if you kept rego aside for each year or if you have the option of 6monthly and kept the car it wont need a rwc if you decided to try and get it on the road.
laws in vic as to getting roadies on cars are getting harder to obtain and most of my mates do that as it would he too hard to get back and they usually have a reasonably stock looking car to drive daily whilst any money they get goes on their other car.
It would be good if you decide to keep the old girl being a white lightning and getting garder to find that model 162 may also mean it could be worth more in the future.
even if it can be garaged or stored safely with it having minimal rust it could end up being a classic car one day.

Store it untill your cash ready.

Only 300 White Lightnings were made avaliable for sale and ONLY in Australia and most of them are now gone.

It was also to signal the end of the 4th generation 162 production around the world.

If you give another thought to selling it I will drive mine down and give you a slap around the head :lol

Haha alright you guys have convinced me to keep it, I'm going to keep it garaged until I can afford the repairs :)
There's no sign of rust on the car at all, that was all repaired and sprayed earlier this year :D

Coolant leak was a five dollar top radiator hose and some new o clamps, the factory ones weren't holding it tight enough and the original hose looked like a cut and shut.
Driven about 100-120 km's today without a drip of coolant, Hose was on clearance for $5 :D
Power steering leak was noticed however,

    Nice cheap fix huh.

How's the PS rack looking ?.......... A split Pressure PS hose is common on our cars but check all the connections are tight first and at worse you will need to do this........ http://www.st162.net/forum/showthread.php?2140-PS-Pump-amp-Hose-Repair&highlight=power+steering+hose

Mine needs doing and it will cost me no more than 100-130 clams and that should last another 20 years.

Once again, it's a good car and the fact that you have done heaps of work on it you'd be crazy to part with it :cheers

You didn't answer my question fella :mrgreen............. where do you think the 'red' fluid is leaking from ?

It seems as though it's running down the rack and leaking towards the middle, I'll take a picture later.

However things I have done since last time - Replaced radiator , all new radiator hoses and O-clamps, complete flush, old one was leaking coolant and corroded like no tomorrow.

Car is in an non drivable state again though, clutch pedal is getting stuck to the floor without depressing, reverse gear crunches and almost impossible to select first, Had the clutch replaced about 6 weeks ago... Slave Cylinder maybe?

I noticed thing thing moves when I press the clutch and it gets stuck, and when it depress it manually it moves again, this is the slave cylinder right?

$35 for me + a bottle of brake fluid on the side of a road in a rain storm. fun stuff!
bleed it first as stig says, but from the pic it looks like it's leaking indeed. if you do replace it, just be careful not to cross thread the hydraulic line.

I'm not very mechanically minded, would you guys mind telling me how to bleed it? , and is it hard to replace?

I'm from St. Albans :) About 40mins away, If you don't mind i'd really appreciate if you could, my mechanic wants 120 labor. I can offer you petrol/labor money too if you'd like. I just have to wait for the part to be ordered in then I'll be good to go. If it was drivable i'd drive to where you're from but that'd be dangerous with a stuck clutch pedal haha.
