OMG, I have seen some some serious work before but this is amazing, I also havn't seen an empty shell like that since I worked at Ford building them.

The head came up sweet, did you pull the valves out and how did you clean the pistons and head etc... ?

    Keep those pics coming :munch

No I was surprised I expected much worse. Blasting and priming after was all of £250

The shells you seen probably had less holes in though

Not had chance to pull the valves out yet, I just cleaned all the oil out before I do and replace the stem seals. Surprisingly all cleaned with traffic film remover we use at work to wash tractors breaks down all the oil nicely.

Looks good man. Makes me appreciate the fact I was able to come up with a relatively rust free chassis 7 years ago.

    Well, not quite...
the problem esp on so called "rust free" cars is that ther'e rusting from the inside out and you can't see it until it breaks through.
I had to scrap my lid the other week and my roof has cancer as well.
I was hoping to cut the lid open and show you guys but someone stole it for scrap.

I'm going beserk with fish oil and lanolin wax atm, where there aren't holes I drill holes just to get inside the beams

Are you planning on doing something similar?
I'm wary of waxing as it doesn't penetrate the rust that's already there (which is pretty much everywhere)
The fish oil seems to be doing an outstanding job of neutralising and sealing the rust I treated 3yrs ago

Do you have a secret weapon?
I'm serious about that cleaner - wow

Great work mate I like what see but as stig said rust work's itself from the inside out it's true the only thing I can suggest for you
would be to cut all rusted part's out and weld new plate's after that you will have to use rust proof product on those welded plate's and other joint's.
Another thing that we do is use seam sealer over the joint's after that I also always do rubberizing on the inside floor panel and bottom under the fender's etc.It make's your car more sound proof and less rattle's more comfy and it will hold the rust from coming back for at least 10year's. But back it's going to come just one of those thing's.
I got love the cleaning product that you have used. Hope to see picture's as you progress with it good luck
