Cuz i swapped it, take a look at the pics, it's probably more noticable in person or when you know it's there but look at the up close pick of the rear wings.

Ok so I thought I might add a quick update to make sure you guys don't think I’ve been slacking off lately.

Firstly I've Been making some headway with my Rocker Covers, Got em blasted, primed and prepping them for paint, keep changing my mind on the color scheme, originally I anted to go black and red writing, them I thought the reverse but decided that'd be too much red, then I was going with black and silver writing, then with white writing, I just can't make up my mind, maybe I’ll put it up for discussion so I can get other people's views of what colors will work, I got two sets so maybe I’ll do two different types......see can’t make up my mind, anyway some pics.....

And Secondly this morning I had this brand new mamma put in, the final piece of my exhaust system, Metal Hi-Flow Cat, Now I’ll try not to go on about this for long but put simply I am so very very happy I did this, didn't get a chance to play with my car before work this morning but I did notice a difference in drivability, improvement of course, however I had no idea until I knocked off work just how much difference it made to the car, it was so much fun just driving it around the back roads I had to tear myself outta there before I burnt up all my fuel, was cruising around for 2hrs and just had a blast, acceleration is much smoother, more responsive and it also altered my exhaust note to a bit more of growl, like I said loving it.

hows about hot pink with purple writing!
JOKESSSSSSSSS if you did that id hunt you down lol. I say just try and think of a theme that you want running through the car color wise and go with that. thats y i did mine charcoal and silver coz itl looke good wen the cars done grey, also i reckon subtle colors look heaps better than in ya face ones.
and good shit on the hi flow, something i must do (prob take a year or 2 lol)

Blasting back to bare metal i thought looked cool but i really want some color on there, it's also left the surface really rough, pain in the ass to get smooth to paint on again in personal opinion.

Just save $250 and do it, won't do much to tip the cops off, they'd never know, it's the most hidden engine modification you can do.
also i may just do that pink and purple, my girlfriend likes that idea.lol

once it was blasted, you could have started with 400g,wet sandpaper and worked your way up to 2000g, then polished it up with black lettering. imo that would look friggin mad....

problem then is keeping the polish up, Polished was the way i was going to go but they're a much more high maintenance finish, I love my celica but popping the hood every month to polish the rocker covers just seemed like it was gunna be a hassle, like i said i still have another set so maybe i'll polish them up.

So here's the covers painted and with the masking removed you get kinda an idea of what it would look like with silver writing, granted it's grey, just wondering what people think of the color scheme.

Was thinking the same for a bit, but then i started masking it all up, and it took me about 5 hrs so now i'm gunna do it in silver.

    This took forever
    [IMG]
and this took even longer, god I hope the pain doesn't peel off

The taped up look or the Black and Gray?

I must admit i became quite fond of the black and gray but as it was undercoat i felt it needed to at least be properly sprayer, plus i just spent many hours taping up the bastard, now unfortunately I couldn't get hold of High Temp Gray paint from local auto stores, all sold out, Go figure, so i got a hold of Aluminum/Silver (just as I'd thought the day before anyhow) which i thought could work well.

so this is what they turned out like

    [IMG] [IMG]
    [IMG] [IMG]

Now here I'm sure that the covers look good however more painting will be required, Intake manifold, AFM and the Timing Cover are all high agenda items that will NEED to be done to accent the new covers, it looks a little too Emo/goth under there atm, as well as red silicon vacuum hoses to liven things up a little. Still I am proud of my hard work and I even fitted them on with Extremely large Bush fires surrounding my town in three seperate locations, was quite worrying actually as there was only one road out of town that hadn't been shut down yet.

out the front door at 1pm
    [IMG]
couple hours later some aftermath close by (this is as close as i could get to the fires as roads ahead were blocked off)

so i turned around and was greeted by a fire cutting through a farmers property and cutting off the road ahead with flames and thick smoke.
gotta clean my air filter out now.

looks sweeeeeeeeet, will look much nicer with the AFM and stuff done i still need to do my inlet mni and timing cover.

why do we seem to do all the same things to our cars? superlows, tinted indicators, painting lol

Great Minds think alike, that's all it is, SO hurry up and follow my lead with the high flow cat, won't hurt your precious exhaust note and you certainly won't regret it, cops'll never know either, and if they hanker you about it, say it was already on the car, however I am yet to see a cop ever get down on his hands and knees on the side of the road to inspect a car's undercarriage, besides with the car lowered it's not that easy to see that it's an aftermarket cat.
At least our color schemes are different, I believe you intend to turn yours into a grey/charcoal color or something like that you said?
I Intend on a bit more of an in your face outer color scheme for the exterior, i have a big fetish for Midnight colors, Midnight Black, Midnight Blue, Midnight Purple
They allow for the adequate use of chrome and titanium chrome rims, love titanium and chrome rims, they look awesome but they're just wasted on some cars.

I'm gunna be painting up my JDM Manifold so i Can paint without having the car out of order, I already changed the T-VIS plate to Black and Red Writing to counter for the Manifold being silver, the Chrome plate would just look too much, plus part of the chrome had peeled off already. Also I can finally fit it and ditch the annoying EGR system.
Just been looking at what other parts I can paint and clean up, now I've added support Brackets (you know like the Alternator and AC compressor etc.), Water inlet pipes, Radiator, the fugly Brown Dizzy cap (might do that tomorrow morning), alternate Interior pieces (gotta be careful what i do paint but, don't wanna do the poxy Ricer thing too much, wanna be a bit classy) and Brake calipers onto the things to do list, every time i knock something off that list, 3 or more things seem to take it's place.

So i was out in the middle of the night parked in the street just eating a cheeseburger and looked over and thought, nice opportunity for a night time photo shoot, so i snapped a few quick photos to post up here.

    [IMG][IMG]
Dunno why but the engine bay just looks a little better in this pic, will paint more parts tomorrow hopefully.

Just got sick of the bay looking a bit dull, it's amazing what a few silicone hoses can do for looks.
