But JDM 3SGEs don't have EGR. Somebody is lying to you, Jester.

Yeah it is the EGR line that Goes to the EGR actuator, after rowdworthy it will be removed along with the rest of the EGR crap and my Jap items will go on. Tried aligning the headlight today, got it looking much better, only now i can't close my bonnet :wall: just can't be simple to do can it. although it may be because that white hood was bent to fit so maybe the red one will work now :D

    EDIT*
Used the ADM Inlet, water Elbow and my extractors off of my original motor as i was told i needed EGR to pass roadworthy, apparently i don't really but too late. so the extractor pipe will be blocked off on that end when the JDM throttle and water elbow go on. this way it'll still look like i got it if i get inspected

Ok so here's the catch-up post I've been meaning to do since the sudden server crash nearly a month ago.

Finished off the horrid RWC list
    [IMG]

Turned a useless Ashtray into an Extremely useful Cupholder.
    [IMG][IMG]

Took her out for a Nice leisurely drive.

Installed some Front Kenwoods since the stockies no longer worked
    [IMG][IMG]

    Heat wrapped my Genie Extractors:
    [IMG][IMG]
    [IMG][IMG]

Installed all new Suspension, KYB shocks with King super-Low springs.
    [IMG][IMG]

And along the way snapped a speedo cable, discovered I'm burning oil and am yet to determine the cause. Bought a Water Temp gauge for more accurate reading but am yet to install it and added some Awesome ST162.COM Decals just before the Crash and change to ST162.NET..........Frustrating but i'll deal with it.

    Update*
Also tinted the side indicators a couple weeks ago to give a more subtle appeal, i always felt they stuck out a little too much but now they blend in nicely.
    [IMG][IMG]

Also picked up some More 5th Gen goodies for my 4th Gen off a bloke I met the wreckers.
Best part is that i got all of this off him for $50 :D :D :D Bargain

    Quick revelation.
when i first started my post a few people were interested as to what my steering wheel came off of, the bloke i got my 5th gen seats off has a ST182 and it has the same wheel, he's only the second owner and when he bought it nothing had been modified to car, so i doubt the previous owner just changed the steering wheel, so for now that's what i think it came from.

    hey man looking good
the blacked out indicators looks heaps nicer ay
also how you finding the ride with the KYB's? i still havent got new shocks to accompany the kings i bought and what are they GR2's?
by the way was good to meet ya that while ago, she looked nice in my rearview with the GT4 front (jealous much)

    Thanks Rye that'd be awesome!

Not sure exactly what your saying here???? what about the 5th Gen stuff? if your saying the 5th gen stuff is direct swap over for 4th's it's not, it nearly is but just off by about 5mm, and yeah it matters, i gotta change the feet on the tracks, something i'll get to after christmas. you know, when i have cash again

Yeah i got the tinted indicator idea off you and the day after one o my mate's picked up a can o night shade so i knicked it   don't tell him.
Oh and of course that GT4 bar is the pride and joy of my car, gotta fix up that damage, it's just not respectful.
My previous suspension was totally shot, these new KYB's are fantastic, give a nice solid ride, i still want a bit more stiffness but i'll use whiteline sway bars to do that so i have a full suspension package but i highly recommend them, plus i got my cheap, i went in and priced them up and each time i went in there the guy kept quoting me less, in the end it cost me about 35% less the RRP. Also they are called Excel-G's.

Glad its coming along so well,

If you can, get hold of some whiteline camber adjusting bolts too, easy to install, but prob needs a pro set up, extra neg camber really help on turn in. that and poly bushing the suspension. will have the car like a go -Kart.

Sounds Awesome will look into it, afraid i gotta lay off the car expenditure over the next few weeks but hopefully that'll give me time to order the parts i need in :D

I noticed your radiator support (I think that's what it's called) was bent after the crash. Did you do anything to straighten it back up when you put the new hood/headlight assembly on? My car has had a similar crash, bending the radiator support, like yours.

use a winch tired to a tree to straighten it back out

Tree probably woulda worked too, I hooked a block and tackle up the ass end of the old Man's Navara, but you'll only get so far til you just pull the car downward either way.
so pull it out as best you can, then i pulled out the battery, air-box, fuse/relay boxes, got a trusty piece of wood, a hammer and a pair of pliers and vice grips and got into it, wasn't much fun but seeing it get a bit better helped my motivation, it could still be fixed more but i might need a professionals touch. best advice i can give is its already rooted, what more could you do to it? if it goes horribly wrong you'll just need to cut that part out, take the part off of a wreck and weld it back in.

o good old rad supports. on the bright side once they fucked they easy to replace.
to do it properly just drill out the spot welds with a spot weld bit (or 2 as they burn out quick) hammer and chizel the old bitch off, take the surfaces back to metal (always remember to prime with zinc rich primer). Line the new one up with vice grips and spot weld away. although if its a 2nd hand rad support just mig it lol

For a genius panel beater in the making like yourself I'm sure it is that simple, problem is for the backyard mechanic with no real automotive speciality, it aint quite that simple, but IT IS DEFINATELY something that i want to do. I can't express how badly i want my front end to be 100% straight again.

genius panel beater in the making hahaha il have to tell my foreman that.
yer it in itself is a piss easy job but the access to the proper tools is fair important. and as for the front of yours being 100% straight if you ever manage it tell me lol.
i only realized a few weeks ago but mines obviously had a whole right front done on it (dodgy sealer work) and both me and people at work have spent countless amounts of time trying to line all the bonnet and h/l cover panels and it just doesnt happen. its where the saying near enough is good enough comes in

  18. Jester

    Jester Well-Known Member

Yeah well near enough would be excellent.

I got that inch gap between my grill and the front bar and the annoying problem of my light no being o the right angle and getting caught on the hood sometimes.
You've got no idea how frustrating that can really be.
