Quick attempt to get her back on the road

And then there was a dead motor, another wanker who reversed into me at the crown car park, no idea who, get back to my car and OMG WTF,
and currently she now looks like this. An improvement but still needs facial surgery.

    Current Mods and upgrades include:
    Genie Extractors
2" exhaust w/ sports muffler and tip
    JDM Gen 1 3SGE
    K&N Air Filter
Had Top Gun Leads but they got broken
    Short Shifter

    Pioneer Head Unit (PH1-Y)
    Kenwood 6x9's
    Under Dash Neons
    Blue Dash lights
And thw WHITE bonnet of course
I have a red one waiting to go on, it's just i had to bend the white one to fit around the right headlight so i could raise it and i'd really like to fix that before i get the red one fitted

and lots and lots and lots just spent on replacment parts. it's a 20yr old Car, at least close to 2500 in standard parts. from CV and ball joints to steering racks, suspension, tires, hoses, Starter motor, altenator etc etc.

You got an All Trac front bumper and fog lights. Lucky the farmer didn't take those out.

Other than that a few appropriate whacks with a hammer and some minor adjustments and you'll get it all straightened out.

Ouch thats quite the dent but atleast you got it fixed up; maybe even better than original. Have to admit that I LOVE those blue LED's under the dashboard...I think I might steal that idea and do something like that; eventually.

Yeah, your lucky to have bought it with the ST165 front fitted with fog lights. Got any plans for it?

Farmer did get a bit of a chunk out of it, so did the G/F's old man when he reversed into it a week after i fixed it up originally, that was a Patrol too, apparently your not supposed to park a car in the driveway, wanker, but my old man reversed into it once (in his 4WD Bravo) and so did my grandmother (in her Pulsar), everyone just loves to hit my car  , no i'm not making it up it all really happened, it's not easy being a part of my life. Poor Celica

As for the Dash lights, DO IT! it's a fun little mod that literally takes about 15 minutes, a phillips screw driver and a 10 or 12mm spanner/socket is all you need to remove the panels, there was already an unused switch in my panel so you might have to install one but it's very simple.

Main plans right now are to get it road registered, going for a roadworthy Monday morning, after that i'll be just fixing little bits and pieces i've still got left to do like the right headlight and the courtesy door lights, i can't get them working again, new bulbs, replaced the Dome fuse in the drivers side kick panel and still no go, I'm stumped.
once that's done i'll be looking at KYB suspension, i hear it's great, Nolathane bushes all around, maybe upgrade the gearbox and search for this mystical LSD i hear you can fit into these.

Man, you have some bad luck with your Celica :(
Should cover it with old tires like a tug boat. At least your 165 bumper is intact. Keep the faith!

    Haha, awesome :D

Interesting that it has 184 wheels and a 165 front, lucky!

Wtf is that steering wheel out of? I was eyeing a paseo one up at the wreckers the other day, thought it might look weird, but yours looks awesome, might have to look into that. Also, thats the 1st time iv seen the HVAC controls ligt up lol. Reminds me I need to get a globe.

Will look great with a few things done!

Yeah it does have a few hidden Gems on it, took me over a year before i found out about the 165's and that was where my front bar was off, i went into the Toyota dealer to price a new one and they just looked at me like i was an idiot wen i told em that the one they were showing me wasn't the one i was after and that mine's got fog lights, was soon enlightened, then the Rims i thought were standard til i saw that a guy from school had an 89' one and all the differences started to show, the front Grill (pre-facelift), the front bar, the rims, the interior panel under the steering wheel (i beleive it's from the 165 with the fog light switches), the steering wheel itself, gotta say that i like my wheel better, i drove his and the wheel just felt really skinny and flimsy in comparison but honestly i have no idea what it came from, another thing that was on there already, i think it might be off a 184 like the rims. all this spurred me to do more research into the car, plus the need to carry out many a repairs.

Not off a 184 mate. Iv seen them on those wide-body camrys, the late model corollas and the paseos. Im gona have to get one, U pull it has one ATM, it could be mine for $17 hmmm...

You have the fog light switch off a 165, pops right in.

The series 2 grille definitely looks alot nicer IMO.

I see alot of potential in the car, with little work.

    -Paint the bonnet lol
    -Rip all the stickers off
-I think the 162 rims would look better, but thats my opinion. 6th gen ones look good, 7th gen ones look great. Some nice Jap ones would look sweet too.

Our cars are twins apart from the colour, both late series 1's, meaning they have the full specification. Fairly rare!

Look forward to seeing what you do with it. Please dont rice it up lol! No mods for mods sake....seen it done too many times here!

I've had this car since 2005, i'm not a ricer and i hate people who put massive wings and other useless crap into their cars for no purpose, the only thing like that i've done is the under dash neons but they proved very useful when installing my head unit, provided light in places i couldn't get my torch. also i simply don't have money to play with and throw around willy nilly, but if i did...........I have an image for the sickest 4th gen you'd ever see. Within reason.
Also i have a red hood sitting at my grandparents, am getting ancy to put it on but i wanna straighten out that light. might be the job for tomorrow if i can, i don't know what else i can do to it, may have to make up and extended bracket to make her sit right.
Also sorry but i don't like the 162 Rims, just doesn't do it for me and i would love to get a hold of some 7th Gen Rims, my soccer coach has some but i'm having trouble convincing him to upgrade his stock ones so i can have em, he's bought a Porche Boxer for a weekend car and won't buy rims, i feel insulted LOL.
and the stickers, the Pox A'pexi one i'll get rid of but i like the stock oldschool look of the pin stripe and the decals, i'm just old school associated. i think they look bare without it. when/if i get her resprayed, if i can ever afford it ($2500) i might leave em off in spite of throwing off the color. I wanna get the rest of the GT4 Kit and paint it a Dark midnight purple or blue, I just love those colors i dunno why.

Thank god for that lol. Would have been a shame to see a nice example ruined.

As for the decals, look at some of the cars here, and other 162's. Without all the stickers you get a very clean look...

The decals are rare though. Maybe was a dealer thing...

I'd like to retain uniqueness to my Celica, the Decals were a factory option on the side, it's because it's something i don't see many celica's still with that i love them, there's also the original old school 80's appeal. besides i've got some of those side decals lying around here to be replaced, some of them are torn and fairly worn after 20 years. just haven't put them on coz they aren't easy to get a hold of, certainly aren't cheap and i'm not sure what i'm doing in terms of body work just yet. The rear wing needs a respray badly only i can't find the Celica decal for the rear so it looks like something i'll need to have custom made. besides car's need some aspect of difference, would you like to drive the exact same shopping cart your grandmothers pics up the groceries in????? actually i shuldn't say that......My grandmother drives a 1983 series 1 RX-7 with less than 85,000 original km's on it. little 12A beast, took it for a run a few months back, all the seals were dried up since it doesn't get out much and the oil wasn't staying in so i detailed it and did some seal replacing, and decided to wear it in some more, my first experience in a rotary was a pleasant one.

  13. is that your stock steering wheel?

    Rye? Wtf lol.

    The decals certainly are rare!

As for the spoiler, simply find a centre section with good paint with the decals on it. Fixed! Should cost almost nothing at your wreckers, and easy to find since you have the most common color!

    Um......OUCH!
ah...thanks for the constructive criticism Rye.
and no that's not the stock wheel, Dan asked about that, he thinks it's off one of those wide-body camrys, the late model corollas and paseos.
was on there when i bought the car.
and my local wreckers has a white, light blue and Yellow ST162 (which has no wing), and the closest pick-a-part is in Kilsyth, was there on Monday, only one White 162 there, hopefully another one'll show up soon.

    EDIT*
Gave the engine a good few can's of degreaser today and i'm fairly happy with the result, found some part weren't normally black but actually other colors once i got all the grease off em.

  17. Definite difference there... looks better! Ya know, you can adjust that left headlight by turning the little thing next to it so it will go down all the way...
