-maybe ill convert the wiper fluid bottle...screw wiper fluid! lol. actaully going after the stock air box next i think...

-sean, im not sure if you can get replacements for the teflon seals (1 on the piston, 3-4 on the pinion junk) but you may. if you go manual all of it goes away.

-rev, yep its easier than i thought it was gonna be. im pretty certain this will be worth while. but the ole ladys gonna gripe.

-also worth saying. with the modded upper belt cover i can now access all 4 bolts for the cover w/o messing with anything else. this means i can take off the cover in less than 2 min! just 4 easy to get to bolts. this should make adjusting the cams super easy. ill get a pic.

actually the teflons wouldnt only allow fluid to leak inside the rack. so it would only effect rack preformance but may not visibly leak....i think. my guess is if these are worn, that would give you the super loose p.s., especially the one on the piston.
-there are 2 inside the rack "tube" that look just like a cam seal, they sit on either side of the piston. those are the ones that keep the fluid out of the boots.

    sounds like your pregnant.

-yeah so either the seals inside tubue on either end, or i guess there should be one on the pinion aswell. either way easy enough, especially if the motor is out.

so now ive fitted an mr2 turbo alt bracket (bolts right up) and used the stock alt. you can see its not in line with the 3sg pulley so ill need to get an mr2t crank pulley. hopefully this should work. theres no issues with the alternator such as the stud, ill just have to re route the wiring.

    Good stuff Jon.

Your new plastic gear/belt cover looks awfully close to the engine mount no ?

Edit:- I just had another squizz at mine and it near touches as well. Plastic is another story tho :eek:hnoes

qiuck update since i've fallen to page 2.

-still need to buy a helicoil kit and/or tap for the stripped crank pulley bolt. but have a new oem bolt for it.
-the parts for the p.s. steering conversion to manual rack are finished and at the maching shop awaiting pick up, but havent had time after work to go pick them up. I got a promotion at work and moved to days, so its near imposible to get there before they close.
-bought an mr2 alt pulley from a guy on mr2oc. unfortunatly there not a direct swap. im thinking it could just be the manufacturer of the alts. the shaft size of my alt is to small and the indent in the housing is also to small to accomidate the mr2t puley. so ive ordered a new/reman alt that i think will work (mr2t), even the plug looks the same. will see, carquest guys said theyd let me take it and return it if it doesnt fit since they know me.
-got the new lightless trims for the front fenders, but i cant remember if i painted them with trim or trim gloss paint. i used trim today but cant tell in my garage if its correct or not.
-wheels are gold and look good. so i just need new tires for them. problem is the tires i want are special order and i dont know the width at the sidewall inflated. ill probably just get them and then figure out the spacers i need once the tires are here. i should gain 1.8 inches of width over my current tires (1 inch more than the stock 205's). i also need to order 18 more lug nuts for the wheels but at $3 bucks a pop im a bit hesitant....at least theyll look nice and shiney.
-sways are sitting in my garage...

-in other words progress is sloooowwwww. and im sick of driving my truck.

UHHHHH... holy crap! thats all i can really say.

-spent close to 20 hours getting every thing fixed and running this weekend. bought an m14x1.50 tap (near imposible to find), and was able to just re-tap the end of the crank. took almost an hour doing 1/4 of a thread at a time, but i got it! so used an mr2 crank pulley, alt, and alt bracket and it plugs right in. works great.
-i disconnected the alt w/o disconnecting the battery (oops) and turned my car into a welder for a second. this meant i had to get a new 80a fusable link to get her going.
-got the rack parts back from the machine shop. i didnt take any pics of the machined parts but there done exactly as described. put it all back together and roughed in the alignment. just from looking at it im probably near an inch toe'd out right now, but every thing is centered, and i was sick of adjusting it last night so i left it. not worried about the tires i have anyways since ill be upgrading soon.
-moved the wideband around a bit and its now showing a bit lean. ill have to re-cal it and see if i need to make more adjustments.
-installed new sway bars in stages....

-a quick review of the suspension mods....

-first i ran the car on stock bars with the new rack. Its heavy, like heavier that 98% of people would like. but the toe is way out, and i think i can loosen up the pre-load a bit to get it a little lighter. parallel parking will be a pita. but with that said..... this is the single best suspension mod so far!!!! steering is absoloutly dead on. this by itself nearly eliminates all body roll because it responds perfectly. dead on acurate steering! this would have been the first thing i did to 09 if i had known. oh yeah torque steer? GONE. fluid every where? DONE. if you wanna build a few new arm muscles this is a great one!

-starving right now with a giant rib eye in front of me so ill get to the bar review maybe later this week and ill throw up some pics. to sum up, get both.

left to right. tires i got with the car (6"), stock tire(7"), new tire(8").

rear mounted with no spacer. wheel is 15x7 +45. tire is 225/45-15. will bolt flush to the hub, but locks it into the strut.
