Re: "Square One" The '88 GT-S ... Off & Running With Attitude...

Lack of time, and crappy weather has hindered installation of things I've acquired the last couple weeks. Hope to get stuff on this weekend. Here's some of the stuff.... Just foo-foo crap lachtot

    Fog Lites
    Gear shift boot
    Shift knob
Flip cover DIN cubby.... (Thanks for the tip Kevin !! )
Cool custom Vinyls... (again thanks Kevin !!! :D )
And anything else I can get before I take pics....

Kinda sucks... I got the funds, but parts I need aren't around ATM (It's always like that it seems) Just a dry spell I spose. If anything pops up that's on my want list that you can come up with, HOLLER PLEASE !!!!! crazy

Hmm........didn't think it would need curing overnight. I use AGs bumper trim gel and that works a treat. It might need a few more applications to make perfect.

You can always put your camera on timer when flying solo. I do that sometimes.......but I always check no-one is watching me :hehe

I've never used this stuff before, so I thought I'd give it a shot.... Didn't get a chance to play after work tonite :aargh So I'll mess with it tomorrow. As for the timer, I keep forgetting about that ... :colbert... I even got a nice tripod at the swap meet here a couple weeks ago... I'm starting to show my age I s'pose :corsair ...... I'll try and remember next time....

Re: "Square One" The '88 GT-S ..."What Did I DO? CURSED"

I take it the insurance is only paying for the accident damaged part then, and you're adding a few bits on top ?

That looked like an excellent meet with Celicas and Supras of the same genre. Could you not have got someone to drive your Supra as well ?

    :eek:hnoes :sad5 :eek5 .....Ummmmmmm, No...... :hehe :lachtot
The misses don't even want to drive it... This was actually set up by Nate for ST162 Northwest. It was a cross-forum meet, but I held to the 4th Gen premise for this meet. Damn sure the next multi-forum meet will have the Deuce at it, and if the misses has the day off, She will drive Square One. She really likes driving him around...

    Re: "Square One" '88 GT-S ...Back,Blue,BADDER THAN EVER !!!!

Well, since my 20+ page build thread is in the great server in the sky, along with my 1400+ post count, I thought I'd put in an abbreviated version of what I had. I'll ad more pics and info as soon as I remember all the pertinent details earlier on. Order is in reverse from newest back....

Finally got a halfway decent stretch of weather coming, so I got off my duff. I gave him a much needed bath, and re-striped the repair area along with re-applying the side decals....
    He was very happy.... :roll

Looks good...except the dirt.... . Seems to match pretty good. I'll get the stripe and stuff on when the weather is a bit better and the paint had had time to get settled in....

Sumbitch in a lifted Tahoe didn't know how to back out of a parking space....
Caught him though.... Luckily had insurance....
Hoping that this will be done quickly. Waiting for the adjuster to come out and give me a pittance of a settlement, then off to the body shop where there already is a stall reserved. Sometimes it's good to have customers that have body shops, especially if they like you....
My heart is still in my gut.... I know it's gonna be fixed soon, but DAMN, can I just have ONE car that I can have nice for a little while ????? :colbert

Lazy Sunday.... Big dry spell at the Junkyards, and everywhere else for that matter... Fixed the hidden antenna so I get great reception now. Put the front valance on a little better, some little bends and tucks here an there................ BORED.......... Ah, well, something's gotta come up pretty soon....

This is how bad it is... Now I got a first-aid kit....

A little better look of the stance... If you didn't see the BBQ pics...

    Here Goes....
In the Shop ready to go...
    Did the rears first...
Some In-Between cleanup... Looks OK ....
    FINISHED !!!
B&G's on GR-2's with bump stops taken from a MK3 Supra... Little shorter...5mm spacers in the rear...
NO bottoming out, NO wheel rub at full chock either way....
Only real problem is the front mud flaps hitting at speedbumps and front valance hitting curbs (Until I get used to it)...Going to get 15mm spacers for the rear to fill in the rest of the rear well...

Snapped in my JDM tail vents. They take the place of the red rear marker lenses by the rear turn signals (Another smoother line thing..) and then I got trigger happy.... I was bored..... Got to take photography 101 so I can get the good pics that some of you get... :roll
    [IMG]
Gonna fix the black "trim" on the center of the bumpers here in the next couple days. I got some stuff ordered that's supposed to work good.... we'll see....

Got my Euro/JDM front fender moldings finally. Got them installed. They don't have the ugly marker reflector in them. Makes for a smoother look....
Still choppin the tree, with a dull blade though.... Getting closer to the way I want it though....

I purchased a Euro market spoiler end from Sig (Along with damn near the rest of the JDM goodies) for the car. I got it back from the Painter's today, and installed it. I know, all the Honda/Acura guys try to do all the JDM stuff, but everything being installed on this car is true Euro/JDM spec, purchased and shipped to me off of parted cars overseas, and not fabbed up in a sweatshop in Singapore.I need a new camera.....

I got a weekend off for a change.... I got out the Collinite Insulator Wax, a few microfibers, and a Full Throttle Blue, and went to town.... Sorry bout the background, the only place I got space to work is out by the horses, kinda cluttered after the winter....
Spoiler ends are at the painter this weekend, I'll have them back Monday. I have the hidden antenna on order, so when that comes in, I'll install the Euro/JDM antenna delete spoiler acquired again from Stig ... I'll probably do something else this weekend, I just haven't figured it out yet...

oopsss.... Almost forgot.... new rear decals on the spoiler... had it painted, but they got the color wrong, but I think I'm going to experiment with something...

    And one just because....

Whew.... Some work, but well worth it.... Here's how it started.....
This is some of what I had to deal with. My dash was fugly as you can see in earlier post pics, but this was ridiculous...
    My ugly goddamn doors...
Thanks to Dave up in The Great White North though, I got a cool box of tricks, along with some goodies I had...
About 3 or so hours later, this is what I ended up with.....
I still got a tiny adjustment to do on the DIN cubby, still drags a little (A little custom project pulled from a 94 Camry). The Pyle 3 1/2" dash speakers sound amazing !!!! Very surprised.... 20 bux on eBay, there better than the 4" Pyles in the rear !!!!
Boy it feels nice to have a nice interior to sit in, felt like a Jalopy there for a bit...

Damn weather.... Ah, well... got a little done today. I had single LED bulbs in the gauge cluster, and it sucked. I got my 5 LED bulbs and put them in... much nicer....
I got the aluminum gauge surround for the red car, but never got round to it, so I put it in Blue.... pretty cool....
I also put in my cubby, my shift boot, and my Tenzo shift knob. Turned out OK, I need to "tuck" the top of the boot to clean up the look, and the ass that cut the stereo area needs to be shot....
    another angle....
Almost got my change jar filled with enough money to start buying my suspension stuff  As the weather gets better, I hope to get more exterior stuff done....

Long wait, but well worth it. Motegi's are on. Still need to do a little with the offset in the back. Gonna add 5mm spacers I think, then get some Sportlines and inserts here in a week or 2. Nothing else really, got the stereo put in.. waiting on the rear speakers. Got a few little nick nacks with a couple of local Toyota Geeks at the PAP today (Thanks for the T-VIS emblem Mike  ) Here's some of the new look.... Hope ya like !!!!

After a couple days of lovin' and rubbin'

    Day One...Bumped, bruised,and tattered....Still showed potential.....
