Got a major thing accomplished today...
The leaks in my hatch are now fixed.... :eek:hnoes :fingersx
Ended up being the hatch strut brackets that bolt to the body...running down the interior quarter trims, into the speaker boxes, and onto the rear floorboard by the cubby areas... I pulled them up, wrapped some of the black butyl tape around the bolts, and squished it back in as I tightened the nuts to them...
I swapped out the speaker boxes that were hacked (and half full of water) by the previous owner with some I've had forever it seems...
Got all the hatch trim secured, lined up, fastened, and all of the screw cap covers put on... FINALLY... :hehe
The quarter glasses showed ZERO signs of leaking, so I'm thinking this was the only source of water leakage.
I had already sealed the taillights and put a new hatch weatherstrip in, do this should cover it... I hope.....

Now the weather will change... stop raining... and I'll have to dump it with water to see.... figures..... :smilielol5

Yeah, I know.... Just would like to just do touch ups instead of a complete job every time I drive down to the corner store and back... I can't wait till the trees stop shooting their yellow crap dust so my cars actually look blue instead of green every 5 minutes....

When it's not pouring down rain that is..... :toetap05 :barf

This has been an ongoing problem for me too
I've done the windows, lights, rubbers, patched holes in the boot surround and lid but it keeps coming back
    - not as bad anymore but I think you may be onto something.

Next step is to strip the interior (again) and have someone hose it while I look for the leak
It's been a frustrating battle, found some tiny holes in the roof gutters too. So I'm forced to fix and respray
    the entire roof.

when i did look for leaks...i was in my car while my g/f sprayed down the car...i was in there for about an hour.....found three leaks.....one behind the driver side vent in the door frame......on the driver side quarter window....and the hatch seal.....fixed those and havent had a problem yet......best way to find leaks is this way....theres no guesswork about it.

Touched up the interior a little... Put a different shift boot an knob on... They were a gift, so I thought I'd try it out and see if I like them. I do like the knob, aluminum and has a good weight to it...

I was getting worried there ( before I saw the pic ), when you said you changed the shift knob....then I saw the pic and felt relieved, it looks fine :) I do admire your subtle changes Rick, nothing too flash and over the top.

I didn't really need to do it, but I'm feeling bad that I've been putting so much time into the Deuce...
Square really doesn't need anything more, just maybe a tint job. There are a couple of minor things to replace that are just a little messed up. I may step up here by the end of the year and put a new steering wheel on him, it's the only really distracting thing at the time...

If it's the leather wrapped variety, I'd definitely be interested.
I eventually want to go with the NRG wheel with the blue accents, but I got to get the misses back to work before I start looking into dropping any kind of money like that right now...

    Snap
The alu knobs look too big but have a great feel to them

Kinda wish mine was a little bigger... :hehe ... The shift knob that is... :colbert :lachtot
Seems the extra top weight helps the smoothness of shifts just a tad... Must be a physics thing... never was good at the E=MC2 thing... :banghead :hehe

I had a steel one with the TWM kit but it was so damn heavy I opted for alu
much smoother changes, but I don't think it's a weight thing

Shift boot also, changed from blue vinyl factory replacement to the black suede with blue stitching. It has softened and dropped to a more proper position since installed also. It is the same shifter...
