Painted my needles! Looks a lot better, just have to get rid of the ugly orange MP/H now! Custom faceplates to come.....
Here's the hood after a tub of bondo! Just gotta sand and primer now...then possibly spot putty then some more primer followed by paint!
So it's official... It's turning into some kind of racer! I've gutted the interior and thrown almost everything away... I don't think people here would have much use for half of a red interior..so I just chucked it...I've got no storage space here anyway... I've debated doing this for a while and the time has come! I've got my dd, so now the Celica will be turned into a beater auto-x'er! I canned the ice racing for this year since I have no money left hahaha I'll post some pics of the newly gutted interior in a bit
Took the car out for a spin and damn...you can feel the difference with the following removed.... Subwoofer/Stereo equip Spare Tire Rear Seats / Belts Passenger Seat All rear plastic pieces Headliner Some Carpet Car seem's to be quite a bit peppier now!
Yes sir....we have ice racing league's up here in Canada....studded tires...almost oval track...slight bend in the one side... Looks like fun!
You should finish the scoop off with this. Route 1/2 the scoop air to a Cone filter/adapter etc. The duct obviously will have more bends depending where it would clear, but I think it would be doable. FULL ram air! -K
Scratch that last one. Here's prototype #2. You really don't need all that Alum, just a fitting for the scoop and hole/duct adapter for the ductwork. If you had to lift the hood, the acordion duct would easily just pull out of the filter end. You'd def. get more HP's with that! Actually, Willie should rig-up something like that too if he's doin' track days and whatnot. There's a good detail shot of the acordion duct stuff on this thread http://st162.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t ... c&start=15 -K
the amout of fresh air that scoop will bring into the bay will definately suffice for the filter to not bring in hot air..and it will keep ur engine cooler
Bringing air into the engine bay won't do you any good as far as the intake goes, you have a stock air box -K
My first thoughts on seeing the words "Ice Racer": What the hellish deucefuck?! But it sounds like fun.
