lol, before I will mount it (when found the other half) I will use industrial high temperature clear coat on the back of the light. I also consider a very thin clear bumper self adhesive plastic. When this is scratched you simply replace it to get that new look again. I compared this new one with my refurbished set and the plastic front is so unbelievable clear that I can never achieve that with my current set...

been working on the car as it's still leaking intercooler fluids as well...so i tightened the hosetighteners where ever I could reach and also am putting on the old foggies I have. Only foggies, no power on them yet as I want to do that some other time and enjoy the asthetics untill then :).

Damn those rusty bolts and old metal... left one took me about 2 hours because of breaking bolts and drilling them out etcetera... So now lunch and then the right one . :)

They don't have yellow glass inside? I thought all had the yellow inside or are the JDM different?
Are there different p/n's? I asked Toyota a year ago and there was nothing available

As you can see my lenses are past tense but the insides are OK, I did try to polish out the scratches and they do look better but I'm looking for some rusted ones to swap the lenses.

Sooooo clean. Isn't there any insects living in Holland!? :) My front bumper was only this clean for a couple of weeks after the repaint.

My coolant leaks seem te be gone now...but i'll wait just another few days to be sure and will still replace the old hoses...

Drove around today and boosted the car a few times, ow what a feeling that is !!

Found that I am leaking a few drops of steering oil at the big hose leftside of the car when you're in front of it. At the firewall. There is oil coming from between the hose and the soft thing around the hose? Will investigate further...

Also found out the rearwindows leak some water on top (common problem I guess) so have to take out half the interior (when replacing those seatbelts) and use some new sealant on top or so... Always something with old cars, but wow what a ride it is :)

Time for a boostcontroller to have same boost in all gears !

    pic's after the ride :

wow. i've always admired your car and those pics are just amazing. stig, it's most likely a JDM thing because nowadays it's common to call 3000k hid's as "JDM yellow".../ricerspeak?

Beautiful car. Hard to believe Celica's looked like that back then they have aged so well. Especially your car Roy, the little changes you've made such as painting the door handles really make the car stand out. Looks more expensive too :D

Been working on the car and really learning a lot now about the 3sgte, here's a question.

    Regarding below picture:

    1. I have some oil in this intake hose! WTF? Does this come from that nr. 2 in the picture, the valve cover breather thing? Does it hurt the engine having some oil in it? I know when spooling hard it has some smoke, but that is probably from this oil then?
    2. Should I be putting my oil catch can here and how does this affect my car when using a can? (Yes rich, didn't install that catch can yet, my mechanic wanted to drive stock first...)
    3. where the heck does this come from as it also goes to my intake part...

    Thanks :)

Having first hand experience in this problem. There are a number of things that could be going on here that can cause oil in your turbo. Its called blow by. What troubles me here is that you see smoke when you boost.

    Here are some possible issues.
Your seals could be going bad in your turbo.
I would check the play in your turbine. Look to see if inside your turbo is caked full of oil.
Your rings could be going bad on your pistons causing pressure to build up in your crankcase(ie stuff is getting by your rings). You can check the compression of each cylinder with a leak down tester.

You could just have years of buildup from the crankcase vent and cleaning everything out wont hurt. An oil catch can may solve the problem, but keep in mind the engine worked without it. So it may also just be masking a problem.

This is just based on my personal experience with my motor(I had partially damaged piston that I didnt know about that was causing pressure to build up in the crankcase), which ended up in the ultimate demise of my GE turbocharging project.

Well, the turbocharger is brandnew so I guess most issues about turbo's could be ruled out. But that hose contains oil before it gets to the turbo..it's not much but still some oil. I say it has some smoke means when boosting hard it has some smoke when starting boost but not during the whole boosting, that's why I thought it was that oil in the hose being burned up. I can imagine that the valve cover breather is under sucking pressure when turbo is spooling so it draws oil from the valve cover. The valve cover was clean by the way as I spraypainted it before the swap.
