Thanks :) And good luck for the project, if you want some information, feel free to ask.

Re the starting issue: I was a dumbass when we tried to push start it, I forgot to turn the key in ignition... I had to do that so long ago, that I forgot how to do it :)

I haven't got the starter mod yet, I thought I don't need it, because my starter motor is as young as it could be. Or does it make a difference either way?

it makes a difference as the fault is in the old wiring ;)

+1. it is the wiring to blame. heck i use a lexus v6 starter and it still needed the relay to be 100%

Ok, I'll do that then. I searched for "starter fuse mod" on here, but it didn't find the topic. Our search engine is not the best, I think...

So, don't buy a lightened power steering pulley, or you'll end up like me:

Ok, no update since a very long time, but nothing much happened lately, just using the car (if it's not snowing) and preparing for this year's projects. The last time the car was at a mechanic was in november, and the following things were done:
    - faulty LSD diff swapped for a standard open diff
    - front brake discs replaced, because they were slightly deformed (only felt it when hot, at the track day, it was scary after a couple of laps)
    - it turned out my rear brakes were assembled wrongly, and the pads were barely touching the inside of the discs, so it was put together nicely and discs were grinded flat (if that's the correct word)

    Plans for this year:
    - paint job - have gathered some minor damages during the years, and I have some rust issues as well
    - brake calipers renew - rubber parts are in bad shape on all four calipers
    - maybe do the rear seats like the front ones and a new trunk mat
    - disassemble diver side door - sometimes the door panel makes an irritating noise, power window is lazy, and it also clunks when opening / closing

Brake calipers got renewed last week, and after that, car passed MOT.
I took her to the painter on monday, he will be working on it for the next 3-4 weeks. We also agreed to put on some protective material to some troubled places like the lower and middle part of the front bumper, and the bodykit parts on the door and behind the door. Rocks are eating away paint from those areas.
Can't wait to have her back.

are you taking off the body kit to inspect/repaint the metal underneath?

The whole set was taken off four years ago when the car was repainted, and all rust was repaired underneath. I think there shouldn't be any damage to those parts currently, but anyways almost all bodykit pieces will be taken off and re-glued on, because they are not standing as they should be at their edges. I hope there won't be any nasty surprises :)

Do you remember what was used to glue the body kit on? Interested to know for when (/if) I put some side skirts on mine

I used 3M Professional automotive foamtape double sided. Be carefull, touch is fixed :) You can't take it off again or move it a bit, it's on at contact lol.

hi hows it going so i am planing to do the beams swap to my car my question is what work did u have to do to get it to fit also what axles did u use. and how about the exhaust is it all the same or do it need to get exhaust work done to the car also ac lines are they compatible

not to thread jack, but its completly bolt in, ac lines fit, axles fit, exhaust needs to be welded from the b pipe to fit to the old exhaust. but the hardest part is the wiring if you diy. Im spending about a week doing mine and exteneding the harness, once its done thou, I will post all the notes

    ^ Well said.

    Some updates:
    - I took the car from painter, but will bring it back to do some repair, the right side of the car got 3 shades of red now... After it's done, protecting foil will go to critical places.
    - Decided to put oem springs back, and sell the Eibachs, I love the ride on good roads, but 80% of the time, I'm on bad roads. I won't put back the 26 years old springs though, will buy new aftermarket ones.
    - I'm still not satisfied with my exhaust, so the rear muffler will be replaced to one that's more quiet than the current one, but not as quiet as the oem one.
    - I'll also buy two new lower engine mounts from Toyota, feeling some vibration that shouldn't be there I think.
    - Ordered a set of carpets, found a company that makes precise sized sets for any kind of cars that they have pattern for. It's also made to order, so I could define colours and a decal, will post some pictures if it arrives.

Painter gave car back on previous friday, but I found another problem, something was sprayed on the windscreen and the bonnet. Took it back on monday and showed it, the painter apologised and removed all of it. Polished it off from the bonnet and removed it with chemicals from the windscreen and other windows. So everything okay now, I'm happy with the result :)

Carpets arrived two weeks ago but we only had time gave the interior a nice cleaning last weekend, and put them in. Only strange thing is the small "cut out" part on one of the rear ones. My guess is that the pattern they were using is damaged. Anyways, this is what it looks like:

I think I may have ordered grey ones instead of black, it would fit the car better, but I like it after all.

Just after I washed the car, I parked outside overnight at my fiancé's parents, and a cat found it of course and walked over the whole car, did some turns on roof... Cats love to walk over cars with their muddy paws :) (you can also see the "thing" sprayed on the windscreen)

Stole the idea from a member here: (it covers the small crack caused by the postman)

Some more pics during the cleaning (I took all pics with my crappy camera):
