Wow, if your's is equipped with catalytic converter. that's exactly the performance it had when it was new! :)

Yep,very close to the standard, wasn't it 147bhp? Pulled 115.7 at the wheels. No cat on the UK' 87 models required :hehe Ive just got a bespoke exhaust system, and just made sure she has been fully serviced etc since i bought her.Cambelt, tensioners, crank oil seal,NGK plugs, new leads, new water pump, dizzy, arm, fuel filter, etc etc. using K&N air/oil filters.so no performance mods as such so well pleased with output!
Ill have to see about sourcing centre caps,i never got any with the wheels....the valance is in very good condition, repainted in a gloss black.looks really good IMO.Cheers guys

Afaik, it was 140hp with the converter and like 150 without.
    Still, impressive result

Ok,been on the missing again for a little bit but i have been busy with 4th gen related business here in the UK,helping to fly the flag and all that .Havent been lazy!
Taken CJN to a few meets, and luckily shes always given complimentary comments which makes our sacrifices and odd bit of grief all worthwhile ,to see a gen4 amongst the more 'popular' cars..ill pop a couple of pics up.
Still an ongoing project, theres a load of stuff i need to do (as always LOL)
Mainly replace the cam cover gaskets(surprise) and i also have an alternator idler pulley problem, the bearing has started to go and the pulley face itself has a strange 'score' in it,meaning its slowly degrading the belt,so i have to sort that. Also a wheel bearing is making itself a bit noisy now,so thats also a priority.
I also have a gen5 st182 exhaust manifold ready to go on to replace the crappy 162 one, also a new radiator is all boxed and waiting to be fitted, the one on the car is okay, but i won the new one from a company that was selling off 'new old stock' so had to grab it.
Im on the case for things like the exhaust and cam cover gaskets plus belts/hoses to be delivered, hopefully by next week.
I've found a small water leak thats made top of gearbox wet....it looks like the small gasket that goes between the cylinder head and that water unit that houses the water temp sensor so ive ordered that as well.
AND.... also have a polybush set too,so thats another thing to do....damn work keeps geting in the way plus the weathers been shit recently, all my works done outside which is a shitter but there you go.
Anyway, thats the list so far,as its a gen4 ive probably forgotten something but no doubt itll come to me when i open the bonnet.Bodywise, the sunroof has been vinyl wrapped satin black and as a contrast looks cool,im looking at doing the whole roof panel as the paint isnt quite how id like it,and i think itll set off the black/red theme pretty well...when its done ill let you decide!

I absolutely adore your car. The tires and wheels look so good together, makes the car look real meaty. And the color choice, as always, awesome.

Thanks so much guys.We all put so much into our cars..its great that we have a tight knit community in the UK to get some great pics together as well to share with the gen4 collective on here./and we dont have so far to travel to get together like a lot of you LOL.
Really glad i got those wheels from a friend who had them on his ST185...always toyed with the idea of Anthracite or metallic grey kind of colour to use..but when theyre clean, the white looks sweet against red i reckon. The red 'vert in the picture above next to mine is Ben's ,hes got white wheels on his now ,looks even cooler...

The vert looks like an off road car compared to your's on that pic :) (no offense Ben)

LOL Ben hasnt dropped his (yet) ...but yeah it does sit a bit higher than mine so far.
funny thing, that when someone comes onto the scene, they start off with a base car and Ben has slowly improved that car piece by piece and it is so far a fine lookin gen4,hes got some great leather seats that id love in mine,he has Trinitys bonnet amongst other little mods that just add that little bit to the overall look of the car.
And 'verts are always, always old skool cool. Its a manual transmission, and its a credit to the UK gen4 scene.with him,Ady ,Chan and numerous others its looking really good for the future of our cars.Too many on Ebay for spares that id love to see be resurrected to proper cars in their own right.
There was a gen6 a while ago that had the BEAMS unit available for around the $800 mark....if id had the money id have taken it and asked the Lion Man for some tips LOL....its never the right time is it...but we in the UK are always trying to keep the modding/originality scheme alive, its a personal thing but whatever stage we want to take our cars to,trust me theres no lack of effort to keep these cars alive,
The main issues are the differences between UK/JDM and Asian cars,i was speaking to Rich Alwayzsidewayz (UK Guru) about this..we have a guy who is in bad health that has a JDM 165,and we are struggling to keep it alive with different injectors running a LINK ECU ,to keep it running above average boost....our parts just are not compatible and its hell to get it ready to run over 280BHP with its standard injectors, and on an average mans budget and limited parts availability and knowledge ,we are desperate to helphim out.Toyota had some awesome ideas in the 80s but 25 years on its a struggle to piece things together. We're all grateful for any tech help we get thats for sure.

Well ive been having a bit of a tidy up around the car,had a tidy up in the engine bay mainly....ive replaced the radiator with a brand new item along with the 'stat ,hoses and also the gasket that connects the sensor water unit to the head as i had a leak there.
I also replaced the camcover gaskets and replaced the crosshead screws with some nice hex bolts....though i did overtighten one and cracked the cover, damn fool.Lucky I had a spare.I've also refitted the original airbox with a new K&N panel inside...I didnt want to mess around with a home made cold air box and feed to be honest,so I made sure the feed that was there was tip top and removed the cone filter.I honestly prefer it like this.
Also used some cable tubing to tidy up the wires and a few hoses. The heatshield is a spare while Shaun has generously offered to do a resto on my original, and paint it red so please ignore the crappy one thats on there!

Not finished but a good start.

Ive just got a Whiteline rear swaybar and bushes to fit as well, any handy help or tips will be gratefully received!

Got a few pics from a meet we had over here at a famous haunt in London ,the Ace Cafe, which originally started as a bikers meeting spot for the 'Cafe racers' but also these days you can book club events there too.Enjoy.

    Cheers Wayne!

Well the Whiteline bar is in and fitted with new polybushes, and combined with my suspension set up i can honestly say it improves the way the car handles, seems flatter and the car doesnt seem to want to push on and understeer as much in a hard corner,it just feels a little bit more,er, well behaved and driveable, especially if you go from a standard 162 to the set up i have, obviously coilovers are the ultimate but i dont track my car, with the new links,Spax springs and quality bushes its a nice balance.

Added a nice heatshield that Shaun kindly sprayed up for me as he was on a painting roll LOL,so i added a heatpad underneath to keep the heatsoak down a bit.Later on ill fit my 182 fully wrapped manifold, when i have the funds to have the Powerspeed guys fabricate a new stainless downpipe to my system.

    Getting there!

    Also new steering wheel,really comfortable,100% leather,nice.

Yeah my car needs a vacuum...

Oh and i went to a local meet the other night, the Mustang guys were there as well ..

How small does my car look next to the V8 muscle LOL
