Update pics..Got it cut out rounded of fthe edges, PPretty satisfied so far. And a test fit..Gonna have to "adjust" the light housing a bit
Thank ya mate ..Ya i was really afraid that when i heated the bent up piece that it would crease when i went to shape it, But it got pretty flexable after i cut it out.
yeah the metal is surprisingly flexible where it's not bent... are you gonna leave the hole open or put some mesh or somethin in there?
yea im gonna tack weld some really fine mesh in the back and connect it the side pieces im putting in
Heated or not, you can usually bend metal pretty easily, as long as you follow the natural "grains" of steel. Basically, if you can't do it with a sheet of paper, you can't do it with steel, unless you bring out the panel beating tools. (for example, try to make a sphere out of paper without cutting it) The trick to bending it without creasing it is usually to make sure you grip it at the farthest point from the bend, and if you can, bend it over something round, like a chunk of PVC. If you slowly massage it down, rather than trying to bend it over, it can be done pretty easily. Usually there are warning signs that it's about to crease, and you can stop yourself if you are going slow enough.
Got my sides in and primed up Also In the middle of polishing my mani..This thing shines up very nicely Gonna clear powdercoat it after im done
sweet good work man! The light looks like it's a little less of a hole than the other guys it's a little more subtle and looks nicer imo... Did you do the same to the other light so it matches or are you gonna have an offset design goin? I wish I lived closer to my garage fuck I'd love to finish my hood!
I dont know yet..i kinda like the offset look so it looks like it there for a reason but if i did the other side that would be just more cool air goin into the engine bay. What do you think rye? ~On a side not ..The initial cutting was really nerve racking and was driven me nuts till i got it done..So thats a plus if i dont have to cut, weld, bend, glass it and then have it painted to match. . .
yea it is a rather small mod that might net 1-2 hp if im lucky but its more of a cool looking exterior mod than a performance mod..but all together it does take alot of measuring, precise cutting, bending and all that shit to make it look nice.I'm sure when i glass it and snad it down it will look even bette rthough. . . [nervous with excitment] The Hood is next. . . . . . Dum..Dum..Dummmmm  Might even go ricer and put a roof scoop on her ..ok, NO that wasnt even funny for that one sec..Sorry guys
