    i don't have to worry about smog until next year, so i'm just trying to make it so my exhaust doesn't sound like diarrhea under acceleration. sorry about the analogy, try driving with it LOL. i have no idea how i passed emissions here with an effed up flexpipe. i've got the complete oem replacement from the cat back from walker. only reason i'm sticking with it is because i get free mufflers for life (plus labour). it's been 6 mufflers since 1994 that this car's had for free lol. but if i can change to a complete GT-S exhaust (since it's apparently an upgrade) for cheaper than fixing my flexpipe, heck why not.

    Oh I can relate to the diarrhea driving car lmao. 6 mufflers since 94!!!! I've had one! haha no wait probably 2 different mufflers throughout the life time of the car. I'd say its an upgrade, go for it. Is it a twin tip at the ends?

    the last one was, unfortunately it was rusted through. i'm trying to figure out if the oem muffler for GE's came with twin tips whereas FEs came with one.

    Yeah, the FE's did come with one, I see now. I only have one. I saw a Celica a while back, with twin tips and it looked real nice all chromed out and very sporty no ricer stuff. Must've been a GE. Can anyone clarify that GE's came with twin tips? I'm guessing 165s are twin tips as well. Only FEs are one?, which being the weakest engine in the 3S line up!

    Not true on the weakest......there is one motor below ours.

    Well mine certainly drives like one :/ I didn't we had that carb in our 3s line up. Did it come with the lighter early 4th gen frame?

    Not sure which OEM GT-S muffler I bought, but I do know it's not a bosal.
    I put chrome bolt-on tips on mine to make it look better but, if you do anything like this paint the muffler black first :cheers

    Confirmed, the 3SGE and 3SGTE both have twin tip mufflers.
    I thought OEM mufflers were made by Bosal.

    Then I also have a factory muffler....always kinda wondered about that...

    Kinda has a different sound to it...more like a muzzle than a muffler...Been thinking about finding a muffler that looks the same with a little sportier type sound to it...

    I really wanted those twin tips when got my exhaust pipe/muffler replaced, ehhh but hey, I'll just save up money for my future ventures when I'm really gonna get down and dirty with the car.

    if anyone has oem FE and a GE, anyone want to see if the GE muffler fits the rest of the FE piping? if it does i'm punching a hole into my oem FE to get another replacement LOL

    Shoot, I just junked a rusty OEM mid-pipe section and muffler last night from my GTS :ack2

    Yeah, would've been good just for his test fit.

    Some aftermarket mufflers come with twin tips too. I bought a Walker twin tip for my 89GTS a few years ago.

    yep or vehicle was parked on grass alot and/or for a while. I'd rather battle rust that cali emissions though :hehe

    Oh I forgot to ask you what wheels you bought? Enkei RPF1's? I think that style suits 4th gens well :thumbsup:

    they're replicas unfortunately, but my friend has guessed that they're Racinghart CP-035R replicas 16x7
