Well here's a recap of everything so far since my original thread's first post isn't there to delete it.

A bit of history of the ST162-7209073
I'm the 3rd owner of this Celica, the first owner being a lady, the 2nd being my aunt. My aunt bought it in '88 with about 10k KM's on it from the dealership it was delivered from. Then this was used as a daily driver, racking up the odometer. In July 2001, my family moved to Vancouver from the Philippines and it was the first time I'd seen a Celica, more specifically this one. We borrowed it for about 3 months, getting used to the new city/culture and just getting around while settling in. My dad loved it! In May 2004, this car was put into retirement, sitting for 6 years...under the rain/sun/snow for the whole time without a cover outside. It was almost scrapped, but the return of $$ from the yard was too low for my aunt. Thank god. Fast forward to August 2010, I was looking around for a car, and my aunt found out that I had been test driving 4th gen Celica's, so she offered me hers. "If you can get it out of the parking spot, it's yours."

Doesn't that look like the commercial? "Who could ask for anything more!"

Here's when I first got her:

I listened to it crank but not start for 3 months. In the end it was the fuel pump:

All ready to be transferred to me from my uncle and drive home from their house:

Finding out more about the 4th gen, slowly but surely:

    Found a lip:

Found a wing (still need a sticker for "GT"):
notice the yellowing of the paint on the sides (has now been fixed)

Found some summer wheels (removed for now in favour of stock alloys for winter with all-seasons):
16x7 205/50/16 (the closest i've had to identifying them is Racinghart CP-035R replicas)

    Worked on the rust problems:
(some pictures are not of actual work done to the parts of the body, but more of when i got bored and screwed around)
no i did not just paint over the rust, but i was thinking about it because i was contemplating on ordering fibreglass ones anyways.

ahahhaha at least that's the only thing i broke attempting that lol

anyways, rick, it seems that the LHD edm 162's got the foldable mirrors too, you think the bases would just swap with the RHD jdm ones?

Yes, but finding LHD euro cars is the next challenge.....

A guy came round yesterday with a Supra XX (M-TEU 2L turbo), mint but his passenger mirror
was busted - guess what!, it's the same mirror with a different base to the AW11 and ST162.
    Problem solved

looks much better with the spoiler and the front air dam  I like the new mirrors also, were those plug-n-play for you? I understand they were the non-heated non-power folding correct?

Good summary and reminder of members' Celicas. That was a great pic of you taken by Rick. Always good to get these "hard to take shots" :naughty Is it used as an every day commute ?

    Re: eNtrax's 162 GT (3s-fe, Auto)

how would taking the same mirrors help? it's the LHD biased bases that i'd need to make a difference since the mirrors are sysmetrical already.
yes, student 5 days a week and working weekends. they're short commutes (25km/day) but they go along routes that aren't covered by busses.
awesome, hopefully shipping won't cost an arm..btw, as soon as gov't cheque comes in, i'll paypal you, waiting on it, hopefully this week :/

    Re: eNtrax's 162 GT (3s-fe, Auto)

i don't know how i didn't read this before: yes they were plug n play, pretty awesome for something around the world. they were non-heated, non-power folding, only power adjusting. but both harnesses (when i switched from manual to power windows/locks) were wired up to have the heated, power adjusting, non-power folding mirrors ready to just plug in too.

ps. i have a sig request for you :D

on another note: i have reason to believe that there will be no more snow until next winter, which means summer set is going on! question. i know i hit the rear strut housings with 205/50/16 on a +43 offset wheel. with a 5 (or 10) mm spacer, i forgot, i can clear the housings.

now, my problem is i have two tires 205/50, 1 195/50, 1 205/55. i was thinking of ditching the latter two and these options
    1) buy two 205/45's and put them on the back, maybe solve the strut problems without spacers
    2) buy two 205/50's to get a set of 4 same size, get 5mm spacer (or more)
    3) buy all 4 205/45 and be broke.

    Re: eNtrax's 162 GT (3s-fe, Auto)

If you pop out the mirrors themselves from the shell and swap in your '88 mirrors, you'll have heated mirrors for winter :)
As you said, your '88 is already wired for heated mirrors.

    Re: eNtrax's 162 GT (3s-fe, Auto)

sorry, i meant to say the harness is wired for heated mirrors from the kickpanel to the mirror, but not the actual mirror themselves. as well the jdm mirror innards seem to be different from the usdm ones? but yeh, it is annoying to have those droplets every morning!

    Re: eNtrax's 162 GT (3s-fe, Auto)

On the Red Lady, I had 205-45-16's all the way around with no clearance problems, no spacers. The only thing is, I can't remember the offset... :banghead . I do remember you could probably fit maybe 6 sheets of paper between the inside of the tire and the bottom of the spring cup... :eek5

oh my god. red lady was a beaut. resurrection? another one? or the body is somehow revivable? yenno those tires you got for square one, how much would it run me to grab 4 from shops there? or would you run 205/50 in front, 205/45 rears just to clear the rears to save two tires.

burnaby. but i do everything in east van pretty much.
