take out the factory pipe that goes to the filter box and your picture will have your filter right where the factory piping drew air in.
The intake on 4th gens actually starts way down in the fender, near the lower grill. Theres piping that runs up to the filter box, but if you remove the box you will find the hole in the frame. Just build the intake so that the new filter is sitting next to the hole so it gets better airflow. Then build the box so that it fully encloses the filter, protecting it from heat.
Hm, could have sworn it was lower down on my GT. Meh. The filter still should be around where the stock filter box sat.
Also, and this is something I am doing on my 165, ig you are worried about heating the gases as they go into the inlet, heat proof the intake pipes, I am using a heat sheet which has pockets of air as well as double layers, just to maximise the cool nature of the air. The other thing to consider with that battery in the boot, is the voltahe drop due to the long cable, so make sure you got a good battery.
CAI's Hey quick question Cannon are CAI's illegal in australia and what code is you K&N and how did you moun it cause i wanna get one
Re: CAI's nah cold air intakes are legal as long as the air filter element is covered by a sheild i mounted it by tying cable to it right behind the pod if u look closely, probably not the best way to do it. u should use a metal bracket and bolt it to something
watch out for puddles etc or just driving through water in general.. lol my friends cai on hes gt-four made him have to get a new motor
http://www.st162.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=211 you seen that for a cai i did that , but before the pod goes in the u have to unbolt and pull out this big plastic thng that is part of the factory air box thng , also how safe is the wheel well mod , it is fairly locked up in the because you have the two bolts at the bottom securing the plastic wheel well thng under neath it and the body and fender around it so it is like a box haha duno how much air it gets in there tho it isnt completely blocked off from air so it is alright , i thnk air goes throught the front bumper and down the side into it

yeah there ebay guages.. it cost extra if you want the leds. not sure bout the price it was close to $80 for the pair i think its worth it, made a big difference to my dash
in the first pic if u notice i put some bright white LEDs inside my speaker grilles and in the second pic in the bottom left corner is the hose sleeve kit for my engine which was $65 marked down to $40 definatly worth it IMO and i have only done 3 hoses so far and still got heaps left.. i recommend that people get them even if they have to pay $65
Nice gauge swap. Honestly don't know much about the procedure besides the obvious. Was it difficult? Keep us updated on the system instal too! -k
just take off plastic panel under the steering wheel then u get access to the screws holding the dash together and then you can pull the dash out after u take the steering wheel out and disconnect the plugs behind the dash and then you can swap the 6 plastic inserts and the LEDs just twist and pop out then pop the new ones in pretty straight foward. i also made a indicator light for the TVIS valve except it lights up when tvis is closed not open but looks kinda cool because it goes off, then my shift light goes on afterwards as the revs go up. the lights you can see in my air con unit are 3 volt bulbs, not LEDs which are hooked up in series to equal the power
