Well, i have been here for a while and been a bit slack... havent yet made a members ride thread (that i can remember/find) so here it goes! Just a few pics of my first celica which i still have and my newly purchased celica. Both 1986 SX celica's

hahaha im so glad i dont have to see that as much anymore !!

im giving my old celica to my little bro.. he can deal with the brown interior lol

 

the blue headers are genie extractors. hopefully ill get some touch up heat resistant paint on to them to get them looking like new again!

i CAI will come soon enough. i dont get the second car till monday

time goes so slow when ur waiting for something !! haha

 

'supposedly' its had the bottom end rebuilt in the last 30xxxkm's like the o-ring and other seals, water pump, belts, etc.... i think anyways!

i hope so cause the bottom end is a pain to get to for me lol

its so risky just buying it without knowing what its like ay! hope it runs ok... its gotta pass a blueslip

hahaha fat chance im swapping the rims brogan! i hate the 162 rims! hope i never have to see them again! lol !

they are different silvers. its weird. im sure they are different. ill get a side by side pic soon just to compare!

the silver does look nice i agree

i like them in black tho... and with black interior... but i guess ill have to wait for another bargain to come along in black to snatch it up

 

okies *UPDATE* got the car on monday night off the truck by about mid-night! didnt sleep that night cause i was WAY too excited hahaha!

drove it home unregistered... was REALLY nice and smooth to drive. even better than i excpected it to be. im real happy with the purchase! i LOVE the stiffer springs... makes such a difference hey!

the rims look SO nice. pics dont do them any justice i think. they look much better in real life..

im just about to drive it down the the inspection place to get my blue slip done.... fingers crossed they pass me and arent bastards lol

ill post pics very soon. i took a few but im in a rush. i gave it a wash the first morning i had it. polished up real nice

*edit* Brogan: its DEFO a different silver... i think its grey silver... not that murky silver colour...

 

agh. got rejected for a handful of things byt he inspection place... the list includes:

exhaust leak (bolt on the manifold not tight - only when cold, when it warms up the metal expands and stops the leak?), under body needs de-greasing (cause thats HEAPS important and all.....), steerling coupling loose on the rack (a bit of play when you turn the wheel - he saw the bolts that needed tightening but didnt do it for me), one number plate is light out (new buld needed), wiper blades worn, AND handbrake needs adjusting....

so all in all, its nothing major. just a little annoying cause these issues arent all that important... apart fromt he exhaust leak! haha

ill get it all under control this weekend and fix it all ready for rego next week! it was SO good driving it to the inspection place... handles likes its on rails... seriously! love that beast!
