should give the centre console a go. all thats been done is a sheet of alloy has been cut to shape then pop-riveted onto the console... simple yet so affective :p

ill get more pics this weekend - some close ups and whatnot!

I plan on using fiberglass for my center console...that looks too out of place, unless there was more of it somewhere on the interior....maybe if the gauge backsplash was silver that would be cool...

its a decal. theres one on the front too. ill get pics, as i said b4, of some of the finer details of the car :p

yeah i dont mind how it is. it doesnt look too outta place to me. if i didnt like it the seller included another blue centre console trim anyways so i can swap it around whenever!

i got under the engine bay with 2 cans of degreaser and attacked! came out rather nice really.... i was covered in dirty engine-bay grime but at least the engine bay was nice and clean after!

i also tightened the handbrake, changed the license plate light bulbs, and changed the windscreen wiper blades to those teflon ones... makes a fair bit of a difference!

i couldn't find the 'exhaust leak' the inspector tells me of... i think he just needed some major things to knock me back on... and the loose steering needs a special tool to fix, so he said he'll do it for me.

really happy with how my celica's coming along!

Lovely looking motas fella! really like the clean lowered look.

Mine had that gearbox cooler on, but took it off and made up a ram pipe for filter using the mounting holes. No gearbox probs at all touoch wood lol.

Glad you are on the road with your new baby!!

Thanks mate! its such a nice car to drive! really enjoyable, but lacking power it feels....

i seriously doubt whether that g/box cooling system really does heaps to aid in cooling, but it must do something because toyota felt they should have it there lol

lowered and sniffer springs are SO good! makes all the difference goin into corners! plus the tyres are sticky as hell!

well, its been friggin AGES since an update, prob because its been friggin AGES since i have had to do anything to the beast... anyways, i only own 1 celica now; the silver one with the 7th gen GTS rims on :)
my other was donated to my sis as she needed a car and i didnt need 2 :)

anyway, the celica has had a S54 gearbox put in, from a suspecting later model 5SFE camry... it made a fair difference in the enjoyment factor to drive! i can drop it down to 3rd on the highway and she slots in perfect, no grinding, no popping out of gear. can handle faast changes sequentially through every gear! again no grinding there... the gear box was put in at the workshop Brogan (XR Pilot from the forums) works at by him and myself... took a grueling 15 hours or something to that note... brogan pretty much did it himself as i had an intestinal infection and needed to run out side every 5 mins to either spew or shit, so it wasnt very pleasant (for me, or anyone else who happened to be around hahaha)... anyway, that went in, then a few months later i purchased a TWM shortshifter that went straight in... also made a fair difference... now i love changing gears even more :p

so far, the car is a dream to drive. everything seems to be running up to scratch! fixed a few little things like a bit of paint missing on the drivers side front wheel panel... gave her a full service, cleaned her up... etc...

then today, she went on the dyno for a tune for the first time since i've had her :)

here's some shots and the results... and a little clip i took on my mobile:

1st run had a top of 125FWHP without changing anything

on the final run she hit 130.1FWHP so im pretty happy about that ! the torque was improved a fair bit as well !!

    :D

what did they tune to get the extra hp? nice numbers! about 156 hp at the crank

the timing was advanced 1 (from 14 to 15) degree and that bumped it up 5hp ! it has extractors, 2.25" exhaust from cat back to a Lukey muffler, panel filter, S54 gear box.

its got pretty good k's on it for how old it is... only done 207xxxkms!

other than that i dont know what they did. it was already running pretty well but they squeezed a bit more out of it

DO u know if they did much else? What octaine of gas do u run there?

    alman162 Well-Known Member

im only running it on 95 octane... there's prob a little bit more power to be had if i was to be using 98 octane and then the timing could be advanced a little more... maybe another 3-5hp if i was lucky...

they didnt do anything else really. tried a different ECU, made sure it wasnt running lean... ill ask brogan what else they did when i talk to him next
