I haven't have any clearence issues on the calipers but I'm running 93 spec st185 front brakes. I have a 25mm bolt on spacer on the baxk wheels but thats just to fill the flares. I cut 2-3inches off the wheel wells to properly fit the wheels and flares (if you dont cut enough you will buckle your fender). I'm running coilovers as well
ok cool! Ill be running coils as well (first things im buying once the cars running) an i planned on cutting the fenders too (i know fronts, also rears?) an are the 85 brakes smaller? also i wanna run 15's so that will prolly have some effect too
So I got the blacktop installed, if all my parts arrive it should be running later this week. The only other things I need to get it on the road for summer is front tires (I'm going with toyo r1r's on 205/45r16 since bfg g-force kdw's got discontinued), paint the front fenders and rear brake pads. Its so close I can almost feel it
Thanks. I tried getting it running yesterday but my starter on the new engine quit so tomorrow I'm going to swap the starter from my old engine and adjust my suspension (way too much camber on my right front wheel)
So I got it running last week and finished the alignment , the blacktop runs so much better then the silvertop ever did and it actually idles normally (I always had problems with my silvertop idling). I noticed that I had a slight exhaust leak at my header to the 2-1 front pipe flange so I need a new gasket and I'm waiting for my new trumpets to come in (I damaged 2 while I was installing my engine, I should have known better and waited to put the trumpets on after the engine/transaxle was installed) now its just tires and finishing up the body. btw the picture of the wheel was from before the alignment Sent from my SGH-I747M using Tapatalk
damn...blacktop 4ag must be really nice in that. i got a chance to sit in a blacktop 4ag aw11 mr2 and that thing just kept on going.
I haven't driven it with the blacktop yet, It was a even a rocket when it had the silvertop last year.
more updates, my entire celica is getting repainted, the color I'm going with is toyota anthracite metallic (1A1) There was alot more bodywork needed then I initially thought there was. infact the only panel that didnt need any work was the roof and the sunroof. while I was at it I decided to reseal the rear windshield (it was leaking) and Im contemplating painting the c-panel cover since they both are cracked and slightly faded in some spots
paint update All I have left is to install the flares, aeroform side skirts, aeroform rear valance, the front lip, window trim and marker lights
That looks perfect !! Superb colour and so smooth mirrored finish Bet you can't wait to get all the trim back on and start driving it !
I cant wait until I can drive it again. I havent even driven it with the new blacktop yet. I did the swap and then I decided to paint it
