looks good ! maybe next year I have to go on summer holiday to hungary if the celica is finally running without issues.
Thanks guys! Roy: That would be a nice and long journey, but you'll be welcomed Btw, I plan on going for a bigger trip somedays with the Celica, mainly to Italy, and the neighbour countries there with all the nice roads.
Back on 31st august we were on a trackday at the Hungaroring (our national circuit where F1 races are also held), but I just did not have the time since then to upload pics and share it. There was a separate category for old-timer / young-timer cars, where we did not get our times measured, and we had to take extra caution on each others cars. In exchange it was cheap, we could try out the track at any pace we wanted and noone was angry, everyone was patient, the whole event was very good. We had a Gallardo as a pace car for two laps, we had to follow it in a calm (=slow) pace, pictures where taken about all the cars, but after the two laps we could put our foot down Oh, and it happened so that me and the other ST162 were the very first two cars after the Gallardo, it's a shame that I don't have a pic about that :/ Me, representing the site : With Matenak: The track:
Awesome,I always like to see a celica on the track Hungaroring is an amazing circuit, you're lucky to drive there!
Thanks guys I always have new plans for things to do / mod / renew on the car, but I got less time for it lately. I also keep it for a while now in the park house where we live so it's not easy to just go and do stuff. Short term plans are: - change rear muffler to the more silent one I bought on summer - renew the steering wheel I recently bought (my momo wheel will be up for sale) - driver side door window mechanics renew, and some other adjustments there Long term plans: - replace rocker panel on both side - paint roof red - get lighter 16" wheels
A long time has past since my last update, so let's sum up what happened. - Springs have been replaced to the new oem ones, car behaves much friendly now and also much more comfortable, also I'm maybe getting old to be happy about such a thing... - Rear muffler also replaced to the oem spec Bosal one, which also made the car more comfortable, but it rattles on the first couple of kilometres, until it's getting warmed up. I don't really understand why that is, but my every try in finding a sporty but not too loud exhaust was a failure, so I can live with as it is currently. - Me and my fiancé got married on may 17th. I wasn't let to drive that day so good old Celi was resting in the garage the whole day, but in exchange we were transported in a Lexus LS, that my best friend get a hold of for that day. Some pictures: It was a great day, definitely the biggest day of my (our) life, so far. - Not much else happened to the car lately, I'm just using it and I'm happy with it. I always have plans of course, but mainly renewing / repairing things to keep her in even better shape. - So much for good news, as sadly I have some bad news as well. I just lost my brother the other week due to cancer. He was fighting for over 2 years now, never gave up, the doctors said he is already a living miracle, but eventually he lost the battle. I'm going through hard times now, but I have many good and caring people around who are helping a lot. He owned two ST162's before I had mine, helped a lot with mine so it became the way I have it currently, and however he did not own a Toyota for the last 8 or 9 years, he always was a Toyota guy and wanted to buy a ZZW31 MR2. Which he did last year, and this spring we went on a japanese car meet together, this picture was taken there:
Not good, hearing about your brother ... Congratulations on the wedding though. I hope somebody will keep the MR2 for his honour?
Welcome back Adam. Condolences to the sad news regarding your brother who was the inspiration behind your Celica. As many of us do believe, our loved ones have gone to a better place where there is no suffering, just pure love. Congratulations on your marriage, they were lovely photos. You're moving onto a next chapter in your life and some of the priorities have changed with your Celica which is understandable. Looking forward to more posts and photos Adam.
This must be a bitter-sweet period for you Adam. I am glad you have all that support around you though. My condolences.
Thank you guys, you are very kind. lone wolf: My brother's girlfriend (they didn't get married but lived just like a married couple) takes care of the MR2 for now. She promised to drive the car to all the places they wanted to go this year, and after that, we'll see. One thing is for sure, we will only sell it to a nice person who will love and care for it as much as my brother did, if we sell it.
My condolences to you and your family not nice to lose someone you loved and cared for I too lost my dad 3 weeks ago.
