Is it just me or does that look like a whole different car? Man, those wheels look sexual now! I'd have made the roof black as well, but that's my style, Kudos boet, I can imagine the looks cruizin through Alberton in that - looks like it's gonna go out and molest something. Did you mod your S53 for the GT4 flywheel?
Haha man this car as the looks alright kevin roof is gloss black yes did mod the s53 gearbox to fit only cut out the whole with a wholesaw a 57mm and tapped the bolt holes went out and looked for a camry starter as you told me too all seems to be working perfectly. Thanks for the comments and help.
I don't think that is the answer, rather get it done properly? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Toyota-CT20-CT26-Turbo-Rebuild-Repair-Kit-Supra-MR2-Carina-Celica-Corona-3T-GTE-/161106400453?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2582b094c5 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MR2-REV2...arts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e7e7564d3 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/CT20-TUR...=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4174ae802e
I need help I cannot understand why my engine as now Run bearings for the second time getting frustrated with Motor or maybe get an 4aze to replace this with I only had 212 kw drove it a week had to remove it again
Howsit boet, sad to hear that Did it run on one journal or all 4? How was your oil pressure? Causes Dirt getting in via the oil filter hole when opened or into the block from the top oil feed hole. One (or more) rods/caps not round (common after running bearing) - have them re-sized. Dirt in oil channels from previous blow-up? Motor not primed properly by spinning without plugs to get oil pressure to journals and turbo before firing it up. Low oil pressure - is the pump good? Bearings too tight?/loose? Did you have them measured with plastigauge - http://www.jensenhealey.com/tech/plastigauge/how-to-use-plastigauge.html (I only had 212 kw drove it a week had to remove it again) - With what ECU?, injectors, no AFM? 200kw is about normal for a stock GTE Love your rims, what is the size/ET etc?, got any better pics of them? I saw an Altezza with some 17" TSW Silverstones the other day - looks similar to yours
HI Kevin thanks Kevin it damaged the no 4 rod big end and crank. Mag rims are 17 inch 7j nice fit no rubbing what so ever. Sorry I did not put pictures just to busy here are the full specs of the motor some will be amazed with the specs but aiming at 300kw to the wheels @ 1.2 bar. 3sgte block from st185 bored at 87mm 300zx twin turbo pistons 87mm stock able to handle 550hp stock rods 3sgte had to mod to fit piston onto it. Knife edged stock crank and balanced camry 5s oil pump T3/T4 turbo turbo branch made with 40mm bends at shalks racing external waste gate tail 50mm tail dump valve exhaust free flow all the way to the rear 76mm with a tail piece of 120mm deap noise love it. cyl head stock mild cams cut 272deg injectors stock from a supra light blue 540cc but running at 600cc @ 4bar Fuel pressure reg with ext clock stock fuel rail. walbro 255l in tank fuel pump removed t-vis gearbox still stock s53 and shafts not dis-appointed was thinking it was going to spin but happy clutch its a four button type good grip with a stock re in-forced teeth on pressure plate. stock fly wheel piston rings are total seal expensive got them cheap lucky me bearings are AE was told to use these because they are the only one's that have cooper in them who I am to argue I used the first time acl and did not lost but everyone there choice's do not want to comment when it comes to things like this. I don't think i missed anything else wait it made 212kw to the wheels and 353nm at .8bar
Was it the same rod that ran before? Was the size checked? What make? What is the ET? What size tyres you got? Caution, stock rods are known to bend over 18psi Too small? I think you need around 800cc, your tuner will be able to establish if it's rich or lean Not bad - not many realize you are 4000m above sea level and that is a good number already, with tuning, more boost and the right injectors I'm sure you will get there
thanks kevin the tyre size is 205/40/17 front and rear make of rim evo have to change rod no good anymore one of my friends found one from a beams motor which is the same so luck on my side again i will keep it posted when we finish motor again and have a another dyno run
Hi Mattc everything is fine car as well doing good, engine broke again the other day but have sorted it out. Had small accident with it nothing major repairing it at this moment and changing color again lol this time red pearl Oh yes i have another celica which i bought gen6 st202 for my son not a bad looking car as well but still prefer the st162 your car all still good i see on ads there in Australia these cars are so cheap just the laws you guys have there suck lol
Amen brother :smilielol5 You've got to keep them registered over here, if you let the registration lapse for more than three months it becomes REALLY hard to renew. That's part of the reason why there are so many cheap ones on ebay and gumtree, they need more money spent on them to put them back on the road than they are worth :sad
Hi Nando, hows things in Joburg nowdays? Yea Matt, cars you wanna keep are expensive to keep alive but if you want parts you just spend $300 on a junker and drive it home. I find the scrapyards in Oz are a joke (as in SA) and not worth approaching, wheras the NZ Pickapart system is brilliant. How about some pics? 202? wtf, seen any 182's
We've got one in Sydney called Pick'n'Payless and their prices are pretty reasonable, but yeah you're right, everyone else just rips you off. I saw a 162 being parted out on ebay not long ago, they wanted $110 for the radiator overflow bottle :crazy:crazy:crazy
hi there Kevin JHb is still ok i personally still prefer South africa to other places due to us being very much more free and not getting locked up for anything stupid lol we can mod and so on but that is not what we are here for speak about each others country dont like politics yes i have bought 2x cars gen 6 St202 one with 3sge motor and other with 3sfe one is from Lesotho and the other one is from Botswana. and there are st182 around i had one the other day at my workshop for repairs with that a 7 gen one pitch up as well so there are but very little and you guys any good news i see this site as gone very quite its sad man but the facebook one going strong i see i will post pictures on facebook page i always have a struggle to post pics on this site
