so the levels are getting lower but its not leaking...? weird!

maybe its just burning heaps more or its evaporating or something of the sort?

thats what i thought..but it thought that since its in a controlled area [the rad] it couldt evaporate

~Found out last night that the tranny lines were leaking so i fixed those..im off to work so lets hope it doesnt blow today.

is it blowing smoke at all?

or everything else is basically normal except for the heating problem and the disappearing coolant problem?

just because you don't see a puddle in the morning or at night doesn't mean its not leaking?

If your not moving the seals may be sitting tight but with the heat of the motor and the fact that the waterpump is working it may only be leaking when the car is running/moving and you'll never know anything about it. Been there, done that, been stranded a couple times before I could figure it out.

Highway to city driving affects it because on the highway its a steady speed usually no bumper to bumper mess. City driving is alot of stop and go. Hence more restrictive to air flow for cooling.

No blowing smoke... = no blown HG

I let it run in my driveway for 20 mins..overheated and no leaking fluid..

    makes no sense =/

What is reallly bs is that i just spent 250 on new winter tires..

So ..just for the hell of it, I took out the thermostat and hooked the fans into my fog lamps..and took it to work today and prayed that it would help ..i took it to work, and got there in one peace and right in the middle of the temp gauge so maybe its ok..i still dont trust 100% but lets hope.

    ~T stat was new..
~ fans were coming on so..idk

OK you said the Radiator core was good- what you can do is find a wrecking yard and get a used cheap one install it and try that- cause its eith r the Radiator - or you have a crack somewhere on the engine- Cause on the freeway is when the most air is going thru the radiator, keeping it cool, Our it might be your CAT ive heard they clog up and can Overheat - If thats true IDK- but its always a possibilty.

    - I think its the Radiator.

Hmm..the rad should be fine..i threw the one from the celi in it and i even checked to see if the coolant was running past the rad cap hole and sure enough its flowin like it should be..A crack. . . is possible especially since i ran it for almost 20 mins the 2nd time i tried to take it o work..and it was 95% hot the whole time.Drove it today was ok..I'm prolly gonna do the water pump and timing belt just for insurance ..It has 260K on it and ive never done a R & R on it so..Prolly should be done

260K- WOW you probably have some clogged water ports....

Well take the head off and change the head gasket- and try to see if the is any corrision issues..
