So ..i have a heating/cooling prob in my 96 cam, heres the story

    monday: started to over heat
[went all the way to red zone in like 20 mins of driving]
    had it towed home

tuesday: seemed fine till i got on the highway, In traffic..it stayed right in the middle of the temp gauge..i get on the highway and go 75 for like 10 mins..i had to put the heater on full blast to get to work w/o it overheating..I turn the heat off..i can literaly see the temp gauge rising

so i ran it with the heat on tues-wednesday to work
    [stayed at like 70% hot]

last night i took the thermostat out and flushed the coolant out and refilled it..thought maybe the rad was gunked up.

Same deal..Got hot if i didnt put the heat on.

Water pump was replaced about a year and a half ago, This is the only thing i can think of that would be causing this.. Any other ideas?

    -city driving fine..
-highway..or expecially if i just stand on it like a 50-80 mph..The temp gauge will rise as fast as the mph gauge

    -fans come on

    -rad core has no damage

    ~How did you get a 4DC GOD with 35 post?? =/

I honesty though tof this at liek 6 am today and the rad cap came to mind, i was just coming on to tell you lol. glad it worked. I think its suposed to be a .9 bar cap stock

yea i noticed that the rad cap was only a 6 lb'er..must had come off a tercel/rolla or smaller engine..The 15 lb TRD cap came off my echo.but it worked out great so, I'll just relace the echo cap later

thats what mine did when my water pump was fucked! on the highway it was FINE, as soon as i slowed down, or if i took it outta gear on the highway, the temp went right up!

is leaking coolant or water? lol
