Hey guys thought you might like seeing pics of one of the best Toyota racecars ever built. It is a Gurney Eagle Toyota GTP car which raced in IMSA in the late 80s early 90s and was nearly unbeatable. One interesting thing about this car, it used a version of the 3SGE from our 162s, it was bored to 2.1 liters and twin turbo charged. This engine produced an estimated 1000hp, and regularly beat Porsches, Jaguars, Nissans, and Chevys running V12s, V8s, V6 and Flat6 turbos. The car was so dominate that it basicly spelled the end of the closed cockpit GTP era, with open cockpit Ferraris and Audis taking over as the new wave and forming what is now the ALMS series. By the way my wife took these pics last weekend on our trip to Road Atlanta for The Mitty Historic races. racerb 8)
Heres a few more pics from The Mitty, including a series of shots showing what not to do exiting turn five at Road Atlanta. Once again special thanks to my wife for the great pics. racerb 8)
