Day 17 heres the update and pics: from this head to this head lol and heres the n/a cams, new iridium plugs my extremely short shifter and new gear knob what is this? does it go here? my doors & speaker covers (where i cut it looks alot smoother in real life lol)
yeah, i just did my inlet manifold gaskets (inner and outer) and that goes there man belongs on the t-vis plate between the head and the intake i believe! hows it all coming along? is that a short shifter or DIY?
lol diy but meh its sweeet lol thanks for that man it really settled my bones haha but do u no about all those tubes and lines? are they in the rite places? i just put them where they bounced 2
One of the vacuum lines is wrong... Where you've got nothing connected, one of the lines directly to the left of it in the photo should go to it. I can't remember which lines connect to the VSV on the left though. (Vacuum switching valve I think it stands for). If I get a chance, I'll check out my gen 1 this week before I finish pulling it out.
doesnt any1 else on this website no anything about the tube connections? theres gotta be more than 2 lol
I think theres a few pages with complete vacuum diagrams and pictures as well as T-VIS line diagrams.
ok thanks to Youds and Sp0oon i got a diagram from here http://www.st162.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=731 ok now technical, who knows if there is anything that has 2 be done, that is always forgotten, or something when putting on a head cuz i really dont wanna put my head on and all torqued down just to realise i forgot something thanks
is it true that the torque is 40 foot pounds? that seems really low lol head is on, throttle linked, other tubes and lines connected, 2moro and friday afternoons : wiring :'(
Day 18 : fuck that wiring is a bitch so many clips and connections argh... all injectors linked, alternator all connected, other intake clips, etc etc such a bitch of a job  anyway all that done, showed mum the car she was impressed...lol 2moro after school: air flow senser + pod filter install, cam covers on, and find a harmonic balancer then put on the timing belt + covers and im all sweet i guess!
make sure you dont tighten the intake manifold bolts too tight cause its soft metal and will strip the threads if you try and tighten them too hard!
lol the torque was only 14ftlbs IIRC but thanks for looking out anyway now all i need is harmonic balancer SHIT lol
hey would the engine not be able to run simply because a clip might not be connected? not as in injector clips or anythign, but like a clip u cant see that i might have missed?
and sadly i learned that over tightening soft metal is bad lol with my pulsation dampener in the fuel rail, the dampener had its thread cut for some reason ( i think my motors been rebuilt, or at least tempered with) and when it started leaking i never realised i didnt haev a copper washer, and i just tightened it more, and the thread has stripped right out on the fuel rail  and im getting $1800 soon, minus $120 for parent loans, this money is for getting the car on the road, and for my own things to spice up the car a little what hsould i buy? (nothign big like bodykits or rims)
Day: 19 put on a hood scoop and mesh grill looks nice i rekon lol tell me what u think interior from this: to this: found a fuel rail and PD so car should be sweet in no time XD and that whole next to the headlight on the bonnet is for a vent i have sitting next 2 me looks real smooth you may think this car is a stunning show car, or a ugly peice of shit either way i designed this car for my taste not yours
is the vent a part of the CAI setup? if so, i think its cool ! its starting o come together man! keep up the good work!
Get yourself some 2000 grit wet sandpaper and rub those scratches lightly for no more then 10 seconds....then get some rubbing compound like maguires diamond cut or something similar and buff the shit out of what you wet sanded, keep repeating the buffing and compound until all your sand marks are gone... It'll look brand new!
