I have the 3rd Gen 3SGE in my ST162.....so if you go that route I can advise you on EVERYTHING. You'll need some help. I also have the ST215 GTE which is probably 60-70% similar to the 3rd Gen G(T)E.
Aside from the obvious different mounting bracket location, and the fixed turbo within the manifold, what other differences are there between the 205 and the 215 GTE?
The most obvious are the coil on plug ignition and the side intake manifold. I believe the 215 has beefier internals. The 215 has an A2A TMIC. You'll want to upgrade the IC to a FMIC immediately. You can't upgrade the intake cam because it drives the trigger wheel for the COP system. Any turbo upgrade available to the 205 will apply to the 215.
What attracts me most is that I've seen a few online with the FWD transmission. So if it's just mounting brackets, FMIC, axles (not sure which ones fit), custom harness, then it looks like I'll be leaning towards the 215 (let me know if I'm missing anything else)
I forgot to ask you what you meant by different mounting brackets.....what exactly are you refering to? Engine mounts?
Yes, you were. The "ST" in your chassis number denotes the mounting configuration. Hence why all the S engines in T chassis' will swap into any other T chassis
1fstgts looks to be handy in this department  I just finished reading some of his work here http://www.st162.net/forum/showthread.php?305-Turbocharging-Saga-Part-2&p=60531&viewfull=1#post60531
There is really only one person that I know of that can do a 215 into 162 harness.....and he ain't on this site.
Custom Coilovers from MXP_57 or Megans from Redrkt01 He did my wiring harness. It was a plug and play beauty.
Buy from me or don't buy from me.....the choice is yours and I'd support your decision either way. But for the love of God, don't ship something that heavy from Oz. I've done it and I've regretted it. If you can't shit money out of your ass then you're in for a rude awakening.
I love your Beams motor! I live in norcal and we really need to setup a meet cause I want to see your car in person
Thanks. Yea we should definitely have a meet. I'm actually in the process of improving the celi even more with some nice goodies. I'll have an update soon enough. Just a little while longer. Before Christmas that's for sure.
