isnt that lil sensor/valve something to do with the intake, i could be wrong but i seem to recall it connecting to the plenum through vac lines

    I love my 4th gens :drool5

Ita so good to get rid of that horrible snow and salt and get some
    good driveable roads.

The RAV4 is okay and definetely better than a camry but it is a gutless
little beast with that 3sfe in it. But then you really can't compare the 2
the RAV4 has no cornering capabilities and no acceleration but it beats
everything else in the winter when you have a few inches of snow.

So the snow is gone I took the tarp of Dirty Deeds and got it into the
garage to prep it for the summer.

Typical of all my 4th gens it had one seized caliper but normally shifting into
reverse and backing up a bit will set it free.

But now I've got about 1000 km on it this year and so far its running
    real well.

took the louvers off my All Trac for now, you can see where the winter tarp has worn
through the cheap tremclad flat black paint.

Getting my ALL Trac rims shined up

what they look like after sitting in my garage all winter, that would be the one on the left
    [IMG]

I might have to change the cars name to the Terminator, this is about an hours worth of highway
driving in the countryside, thats alot of dead bugs :banghead

    NO
Never ever ever ever sell my 4th gens :shock I did give away
what was left of one 4th gen to a fellow St162.net member but
    that was a special case.

Well I don't really ever plan on having less than a couple of 4th gens around
so you'll be waiting awhile but your a good lad and sent me a box of Celica
goodies so your in my will for
    - 1 Chastain Shadow 4TH gen Celica Hatchback Louver Set

Another engine with a lack of oil pressure, engine is currently at about 3000rpm
Oh well I may get the summer out of it***Note to self "try not to rev engine to 6000"

    3rd wheel polished
    [IMG]

The old engine that I smoked last fall reved around 3700 at 108kph
    [IMG]

The engine I have in now revs around 3200 at 108kph
    [IMG]

The engine I have in now is the engine that came in Dirty Deeds and has the JDM head
11111-88360 so maybe it has a JDM tranny to if there is such a thing. One thing for sure is that
there are different gearings that can be run. I have never found any numbers on the trannys so
I don't know how you can tell them appart. The one that revs at 3700 came out of an 88 GTS
coupe, I know that car had its engine changed but I don't know about the tranny. I know Dirty
Deeds had also had its engine changed but again I don't know about the tranny.

The ?JDM tranny that is in Dirty Deeds right now is designed to accept a GT/All Trac starter
in addition to the GTS starter so I could bolt up a 3SGTE
    [IMG]

Any north american 3sge tranny I have seen in the past has allways had the GT/All Trac starter
    hole sealed

-Can only be the pump, the bearings or the cam caps. I bet it's taking a looong time to build pressure too - Check them before it kills something expensive

Gearbox - new box is either from a FE/Camry/later gen. Sounds like the new one is 3.9 and the old one was 4.2.
I found the same thing here with the gen1 (4.2) and the gen2 (3.9). It could also be that you have 2 different 5th gear ratios
0.8/0.7 in there but a simple cover removal will comfirm that. If you do come across a spare 5th 0.7 set please let me know.
Also you can pull the speedo drive and compare - I believe different final drive ratios have different colours and numbers underneath.
I'ts still theory but I'd like to see whether the speedo drives are different

NICE. I've netted those $200 louvers before, but I'm skeptical about it's durability, and the price is just outrageous. Probably will make my own as well. Lovely side window louvers, can't wait to see how they look painted and ready

Theres really no end to the things you can make with fiberglass. I have a digital dash and it doesn't have
an oil pressure guage and I don't have the right sender for the fuel level so I made a guage pod for the
    2 analog guages.

To make tubes for the guages I used a beer bottle. Wrap a piece of wax paper around the bottle and
    then wrap your fiberglass
    [IMG]

    A rough tube
    [IMG]

    test fit
    [IMG]

    Seal up the bottoms
    [IMG]

I need some rings to put inside the tubes so I can put in a front piece of glass
    [IMG]

In this case I used an aerosol can wraped in wax paper
    [IMG]

drilled mounting holes in the back of the pod which are also the connections for the guage
    [IMG]

    Finding a mounting spot
    [IMG]

Attaching the 2 pods to each other
    [IMG]

Making a base for the pods
    [IMG]

I want to make a cradle for the pods to sit in
    [IMG]

cutting up some small bits so I can mold the 2 pods together
    [IMG]

I want to round of the back of the pods so I shaped a piece of styrofoam
    [IMG]

Wrap it in duct tape because the fiberglass resin will disolve the styrofoam

Still need to finish the guages but the holders done. So theres some inspiration for you. For big
projects try to break it down into smaller parts that can then be combined into the final product.
One of these days I'll post more on the making of the side louvers

Where do you get this stuff Dave? The fiberglass, how much did this stuff run you? It's like you have abundant amounts at home, like a kid with a large box of legos
