If you spent over $200 on tools to do the job, its not like you only use them once. Then when you want to do something else on your car you have tools already.

ya thats true, i was thinking about that but then i decided i wouldn't have time until sometime in the summer to do it myself because of school. but lesson learned, next time i'll prob buy the tools.

and its not $405 since u havta take away $200+ that i woulda spent on tools, but ya i get your point i know its not hard to do but i also needed my car working in a time line and was willing to pay not to put them in myself when its -7C outside + a wind chill most days

i would say it would cost approx $50 for tools for this job
    1x spring compressor - $40
1x deep socket for strut - from about $2
    1x 12mm spanner - from about $4
    1x jack (in car)
    1x wheelbrace (in car)

but then again i have never experienced -7*C ! working on a car anyway

haha ya living in texas for a few years made me hate the cold! and when i checked prices on spring compressors it was like $100 here (seemed like a lot but what do i know lol) and then i need a torque wrench which was another $100 plus what is it now 13% tax? i think so, so thats $226 for tools. oh well no big deal tho, im sure at some point this will just become a project car in a year or so (aka when my sister gets her own car and i can use my parents corolla for school and such like she got to do lol)

i finally adjusted my idle WAY down, it was pretty high and prob bad for the engine on cold start up but its running much better now :D. but anyways the thing im really wondering is how high the car should be idling when the engine is cold and its cold out. my guess is that my car is fine but im just wondering as a comparison what everyone elses car will idle at on first start up on a cold day.

Thats pretty high on a cold motor I think, but mine does it too. Should drop when I ad=just my idle and tps properly though, as mine goes between 8-1400rpm warm lol.

Its so noisy when it starts in the morning at such high revs though. mine roars....

  10. Dude what springs and suspension stuff did you get? Thats exactly the amount of drop i want on my Celi...

just eibach springs (1 inch drop) i really like them. you should prob do shocks also (if you dont know when they were last done), i didnt cauz i had no money but more importantly my uncle had done them before and there was nothing wrong with them. my uncle was the original owner and person i bought the car from so i have a full history of the car, and what i dont know i can ask.
