you need to get a hold of the right tool first and a small torch. Take all the trim off, heat some of the glue enough to get your tool in there and then pull-heat-pull-heat-pull-heat. The most important part is not to pry on the windshield at all until you can somewhat freely pull the tool around the entire perimeter

I figured it'd be something like that...in any case I can do it first on my broken one and if im successful then I'll do it on the good one...if I can't do it then I'll call someone who can :D

there shouldn't be a torch involved in this.

ive seen Mexicans do this at the junk yard alot...all they do is get some steel wire stuff poke it thru the sealent and pull back and forth ....like a saw...It looks like fun actually.

I was thinking of using like a long metal spatula...guitar or piano wire would be good just cuz it's got a rough edge I guess eh?

or you could buy plungers and stick those to the window :p

isnt that what the pros use?

I think they use that for the actual taking it out, once the sealant is all gone.

you won't get the broken one out in one piece. but you can practice your cutting I guess. And piano wire will work but you need another hand on the inside and it puts pressure on the edges in some places....which could cause it to crack

If you pull a window that is already cracked it will spider everywhere.

I guess you didn't really get the point of my post...

I don't care if my broken windshield breaks more...that's why I'm taking it out in the first place..because it's broken...I could care less about smashing it out..but I have a parts car that I'm taking a good windshield out of that I don't want to break...that's all...

so then if you can get the old one out without breaking it more, you'll use the same process for the good one? and if not call an expert?

I got the trim off the front window without breaking the trim...so that's a good start...the glue looks pretty easy to saw with piano wire...it's pretty open....I'm gonna try to get the good one out and take it apple auto glass or something and get them to take out the broken one and put the good one in....
