well this post i think willie will enjoy the most...

Gentlemen, the engine harness is done!!!
put the finishing touches on it today, theres a few wires waiting for there position as the car moves on, like rad fan horn ect... but the whole system is hooked in and tied up the igniter, inj resistor, the fuel pump resistor, and the turbo press. sensor have all been bolted up in the pass fender. i had to make a 40a fuse for one of the wires, so i "modified" a stock toyota one... so the whole engine side is wired up and ready to go. now im moving onto the bulkhead harness, i mainly just want to tuck it better than it was... so here is a recap of what my engine harness has set me back...

    -stock usdm gte harness
    -500' 18g fine strand wire
    -60' 6g 22 strand wire
-7 "fat boy" bottles of propane
    -13 rolls of electrical tape
    -60' of resin core solder
-22 grd 8 bolts with washers and lock nuts
    -5 full exacto knife blades
-1 busted thumb, 6 sliced fingers with the exacto knife.
    -too many late f'n nights!!!!!

heres some pics of the first 4th gen celica tucked engine harness... drink it in team...

You forgot to add zip ties to the list! LOL
Seriously, just be aware that the 3SGTE generates enough heat to make your zip ties crispy and brittle. I find that the ones near the front of my engine bay are OK, but anywhere else they tend to get brittle. Great job (and patience) on the wiring. It must feel good knowing that your harness is brand new :D

you know Rick, i was thinking that tonight.. i used about 98 zip ties.. lol and as for the heating issue, i have a few tricks left to fix that... but yess they will wear, one thing that has me worried is vibration, like since the harnesss is so tight to the body, may have to mod it slightly later on... i started on the interior wiring tonight... and yeah a brand new harness is quite a good feeling. but the best is knowing that i actually did, what only a year ago i wouldnt even have attempted. thanks for all the replies guys.. now we move on to my int harness job, its not as extensive, but will still be of the same ingenuity...

well heres an update, my girl is officially stuck to running n/a, due to a screwed turbo. i had pulled it fresh out of the sonic tank and decided to tear it down for a rebuild to come in the coming months. so i mounted it in the vice, pop off the compressor, put the vice grips on, thinking shes coming loose, when snap... she breaks the tip of the shaft off. and before anyone says it, yes, i am aware they are left hand thread. so i pull all the seals and bearings out and proceed to pop the center section off, i get it all apart, only to realize on my compressor side its all cracked to shit.. so my turbo is officially junk..... now thats just fucking peaches.......... that being done i decided it was time to give court her kemo. so out with the grinder and i chopped a good 15" out of the drivers frame rail, since the pinch weld was falling out i said to hell with it and cut out the pinch welds. i plan to do some extensive cutting to this car....... also i cut out around my gas filler as well as took out the stock filler and tossed it. you will find out why sooner or later. you can also see my int wiring job i have started, im just doing a nice subtle tuck, nothing fancy but it still looks pretty killer lol. one of the plugs that went to a stock ground snapped off, so i had to take all 6 wires and merge them into one clip to bolt down lol. well im tired heres some pics as always.

hope them tires fit mate, i had 215/30/18 on my 18's obviously on my GT2, front guards were pumped and rolled like crazy backs were fine....offset of the rims were +38 ...was also superlow king springs so it didnt sit like a monster truck

dont think i would ever go 18" again..with such a low profile i was scared going over every bump!

    but cars looking good mate!

cheers man, yeah i have a little trick to mod the stock suspension, if it works, i should fit those 18s in like nothing. if it doesnt then ima have to redesign the front suspension. . again.. lol i just got the inner wheel wells back on today, going out later to take some measurements.

well its time for a little update, asides from drilling 4 huge f-n holes in the car i have not done fuck all to my girl. i have the neighbors 95 grand prix in my driveway. i have been doing repairs to it for weeks, i swear everything is fucked on it. but its pays me a shitty amount of cash. . and hes poor, so repairs are per payment, a very slow process (woo hear my joy. . ) so all i have done to the car is paint shit, i picked up a oil cooler at a car show not too long ago to replace my stock one (hence whys its for sale) so i need some npt fittings and braided line to hook her all up. i took off the oil filter adapt and painted it, and since the stock cooler was also a in and outlet for oil flow through the galleries, i used on old crimp line i had lying around, she came out decent after i cleaned, fitted and painted the thing. also i got bored and painted my dash cross brace. i finally painted my crossmember, i think she looks pretty killer, i need some like 1/2"-3/4' wall steel tubing to replace the stock rubber bushings. fuck deflection... well heres some pics go nuts....

    pulled off my engine,

be very interested to see how you going to fit those tyres on it, we have had major struggles getting 215 wide rubber at the front if you run low springs.

Reading back are you keeping the PAS or going to a manual rack? Coz surely manual steering and 245 wide tyres is going to be a killa at low speeds

Look forward to reading some more updates.

yeah i came up with a little trick, hope it works, i dont think the inner fender will live though. i dont think ill have to roll the fender, but i may have to snip off the mounting tabs. the tires i showed i actually sold. currently i have a set of bridgestone potenza's 18's of course. as for the rack, i need to throw in a few steering stabilizers also to help control it.

Front fender is a pain really, as even rolling it does not give you much extra space. as you say, easier to go inwards.

I could see narrow 18" rims working, with the right offset wheel. hell my 17" rims are 7.5" wide and fit fine, its just the actual tyre thats the pain.

How is the search for a new turbo going? any thoughts which direction you might go?
