well i think its just time for an update on my girl.... for those of you that remember, the last thing that happened was i was finding other things to work on since she threw the timing belt.. and i have been amazingly busy. this is going to be a very big update... i dont know if most of you remember the aw11 mr2 i found in the wreckers, the one i had got the "jdm" mirrors off of. well i had eliminated the power steering on my car, and o got looking at the aw11, she has a like 8lb full manual rack, so one day laying on a sheet of ice, in a puddle of oil, i pulled the rack out of the old mr2. the tie rods from my celi screwed right in. so off to the college it was to blast the rack and its brackets. i took them home, greased it up. and painted it. it looks just beautiful... now, i decided to pull my pedals and there brackets apart and give them a blast and a paint. i even took the brackets that hold in the radio and shifter console and blasted and painted them. also i got tired of having to use a hood prop, im going full gas struts, so in order to do this, i needed to make my hood go a full 90^ so some time with the stock latching, a grinder and i have accomplished this. also i sanded cleared and baked both my cam gears, they look amazing. also i got the rusted to hell drilled rotors off my old celi and i spent one full night sanding them with 50g sand paper, now there painted full black. well i went to install my bitching valve cover the other day, and noticed a drop or oil coming from my cam seals, so i took off the caps and they practically crumbled in my hand.... so i couldnt put the valve cover on. so i thought to take some oil and just pour some in the top end, i undo the drain plug, no oil??? theres 5l in there...then i looked down, and seen my engine had slipped off the stand and tore and bent the oil pan all to shit, so she pissed all the oil down the driveway... well that wasnt good eh?? then i notice the front end plate is leaking in the corner, well fuck it, the front end is already tore apart, lets finish the job. so i dropped the pan, and pulled the front end plate and oil pump, oh did i mention in the tear down process the crank sprocket got fucked? cracked right down the middle. well thats just fucking peaches... so out to the locker i go to pull my spare off the jdm's pile of parts, and st165-2765 you are my hero, the oil pan on that ge is currently being modded for my engine. oh and in pulling the water pump apart the housing broke right on a bolt hole, thankfully i had the jdm housing to back me up, so i blasted that as well, its pending paint. and today, i blasted my rf engine mount bracket. i actually found the part numbers ahahah heyy on a good note. i finally got my timing belt kit!!! only partsource screwed up, and i have a 2nd gen gte kit. they cant get one for the 1st gen gte. its the same except for the number two idler, so now im on the hunt for a new one for my engine. and also i got a new water pump!! so i took that bitch home and wrapped her in 3 layers of clear coat. so thats been the past month with my car... more to come ppl... enjoy a shitttt load of pics....lol

well im sorry we cant all have PRETTY, CLEAN ,RUNNING cars.... ahahaah and i dont know about a serious machine, keeps going backwards in my eyes... seems like i get one step up the ladder, then the rungs break and i fall 3 down... i bust my ass in the cold and rain, and she just says "hahaha fuck you... guess what broke now??" i must say its taking its toll, but some of the things ive done to it i simply love... maybe thats what keeps me going?? who knows...

 

lol shes my little project, sometimes i hate her, others i love what ive done...lets just hope i can get her all back together. and finally bring her to life.

just imagine how unique she will be when she hits the streets man. plus all the things you've painted etc, the motor/tranny etc are super clean, plus the tucked harness is very sexy. better for the things that have broke have boke now instead of when ur on the road though right? good luck [/quote:24r0v6yz]

the road is far away for this little car. shes a great paperweight @ the moment...but the tucked harness is prob one of the 5 things i just love about this car

lol what'???? its not that bad...and you do have alot of parts i want, but unless you accept 162.net dollars im pretty well screwed for now lol....

 

well heres a quick little update on my car. not to much has changed. i sold the tires and rims off her, so currently shes sitting on stands. i got like nothing from them too. and when the guy unexpectedly dropped in to get them, i had lent out my jack, all i had was a 1' span scissor jack, the car fell landed on the oil pan i had placed on her to keep the bottom end rust free, she broke 3 bolts off in the block and screwed the pan beyond recognition. so i had a beer in memory of the poor girl.. but onto a plus note, i got the jack back, and now shes stable on stands. i got tired of seeing that shitty valve cover on her so i put my spiffy custom vc on, also the water in my engine was not a plus. i got some quotes for new gaskets and seals. for my front end kit, its about $55.00 and $17.00 for each cam seal. so they will have to wait until/ if i get the money to put her together. i blasted my spare oil pan only to find it full of holes, so i cut it up in hopes of resurrecting my jdm pan. i painted my endplate, and i totally disassembled my oil pump ran the two through the varsol tank, and then painted them, they look pretty decent i think. well thats all for now im guessing, heres some pics of the progress..enjoy...

heres a small update on my ride, the engine is still kinda hanging there, its still ugly, and it still only has 3 mismatched tires. i was getting tired of how my hood looked, it was off my old gt. my first car. i loved it to death, but sadly i had to scrap it to put money away for college. i only got $50.00 for it, but i had no place to put it and thus no choice. but i kept a few parts from her, one of those parts happened to be the hood... so naturally any hood i have had since then has gone to scrap. i got bored the other night and started looking at all my car pics, noticing the hood was dirty, rusty and had all kinds of crap anf primer on it, so i thought its time to put my "hot rod hood" plan into motion. since i have no material to continue on the engine, i decided to unbolt the hood and bring it in. it took one can of degreaser, and about two hours but man does it look sweet. so now i have the surface to start sanding on, ima start with 120g, move to 220, prime, then 320. also i was out knocking out sound deading yesterday, and i found two holes about the length of my forearm right on the interior side of the rocker panel, well, thats just fucking peaches i say... ill get some pics up of that soon. ayways back on topic. i was working in the car when it started to rain, and the roof is not really attached, so naturally i got dripped on, now that gets annoying after an hour or two. so i pulled the roof out and then i got looking at the sun roof it was from my previous car, and like the car, it was full of crap. so i brought it in the house and sanded it first for an hour to break the skin, this is with 50g paper too... then tonight i spent three hours sanding BY HAND and guess what i found? only more paint... heres the layers , (in order) metal, bondo, primer, bondo, primer, paint, primer, paint. whoever did this had no clue about body work. look at these pics, they look similar, but theres 3 straight hours of sanding in between them, so im debating just hitting it with the flap wheel.... but on a good note, i sonic tanked my crossmember and blasted it. i have no black paint, so i hit it with primer grey for now it looks good, you cant even tell where the previous owner hit it off the ground... well heres a few pics.

ive started to really edit out chatter to keep it short and my thread, not random post fest. as for nemesis, i would love to have half the resources willie has, like a full sized garage, the ability to spend money on it, either savings or not. and to have some good friends to help out, my friends just point and laugh. if feels like shes going backwards, sold the springs, rims and tires, other misc crap from her. and if things go sour this month she may have to go as well. hope it doesnt come to that. it sucks knowing you can do so much with 20 bucks for example. but not having it. then you do something else till it requires you to spend money. once you hit that point you move on yet again... it seems like im not really doing a whole lot... i have no resources for this car whatsoever.. in my eyes its the same car it was when i got it. it still cant run, still cant move, still sitting in the same spot, still with that "why do you bother with me" look on it... i love the 4g celica, but mine barley even resembles one... sorry about the rant... lol its been a long day, and im in practical testing all next week so im like super stressed out......
