How about a clue on the new car? How old are we talking?

The clue I've been giving out is its a Toyota 4 door saloon.

Nah it won't be a Cressie, he said there are none of this particular model in Australia, and we've got a shitload of MX83 's. :lol
My money is on either a V12 Century ( we have a small number of Century's here but I don't think any with the V12), or a Verossa.

hmmm... there's not many other 4-doors that Toyota built, that we didn't get, that would be worth the bother importing... I mean you're not going to go to the effort of bringing over a JDM Corolla or Camry or something just because no-one else has one are you... hmmmm... I thought maybe a Mark II, but you've already got a JZX100 Chaser and it's almost the same car so I don't see why you'd bother with that one.. how about a supercharged 4WD Mark X?

    Your on the money Matt.
Not a supercharged one though, Kristen (Iron Chef Imports) reckons they fetch mega dollars, so I've decided on the fastest non supercharged one, these are the specs I've chosen (for him to find a car for me)

I'm thinking maybe down the track sometime a couple of small wizzers blowing low boost into it would be good. There is an aftermarket supercharger kit on the market for the 10th gen 2gr-fse crowns that should fit these too (made my Rotrex), that is also an option. I would rather turbos though, but I will be contacting them about what they did in regards to ECU.

    Black
    sub 50 000kms
    moonroof
350s (so the 3.5 litre 2gr-fse engine) and S means the sports edition, that has better suspension (electronic), better body kit, 18" wheels, a more sporty interior (so alloy pedals, leather sports seats etc)

There is no official figures for the 350S but one of the jap mags said 0-100 in 5.5 seconds, no idea what the delimitered top speed would be.
All are the 6 speed super intelligent semi auto with paddle shift.

    I'm drooling :lol

The 2GR is the same motor we got in the Avalon/Aurion isn't it? So parts = easy, and TRD did a S/C version of the Avalon so we know they're plenty strong. Well played sir :)

Its a similar engine yeah, but afaik a bit tougher.
plus the "s" in the engine code means it has direct injection, they actually have both port and direct injection to to get the best of both worlds.

    Thank you my good man.

Damn you Matt, you get the chocolates this time :aargh

That car is BIG and beautifull as it is but fook me, I'd option for a supercharger for a coupla extra thousand clams with AWD :twisted

The supercharged model isn't available with awd, the awd is only the 2.5 engine and is made mainly for the snowy mountain roads of Japan.

There is only 2 cars that Modellista supercharge is the 350s and the 350 Premium (which is a luxo model)

    Bit of an update.
Got a head (for the cost of a bottle of beam) the head was freshly rebuilt, put on a car and driven for only 1 week before the bottom end spun a bearing.
A new head gasket, front main seal and timing belt are on their way, I should have them this week, so i'll probably have a crack this weekend at putting it back together.
Today I got a tap and cleaned out the head stud bolts, and cleaned up the surfaces ready to sit the head back on, all the parts have been cleaned and are also ready. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on which way you look at it) this is an early head, so I won't be running EGR anymore.

Jeez, hundred dollar cars, rebuilt heads swapped for bourbon... I gotta move to Tassie, lol...

On the up-side, you've pretty well knocked most of the major issues that you'll have with one of these out already. You just need the starting problem, leaky power steering and steering rack issue and you'll have covered them all :lachtot

Haha, yeah, and I've got the HG, timing belt and front main through a mate who works for a parts supplier and they only came to the grand total of $100 too, it's going well, haha.

I'll keep a lookout for those other issues too then.
