I'm DD'ing mine. It's really quite the blast. Gas mileage kinda sucks, but it's fun. The clutch kinda makes it a PITA to drive in traffic, but it's still fun to drive.

another victorious day down today. We dropped the old motor out, soo much easier then the top. Gunk and pressure washed the heck outta the engine bay! looks like new. Got my exedy clutch and flywheel resurfaced. and test fitted the motor in the bay while it was on the stand. I got to order my flywheel bolts since I lost the old ones, so the motor wont go in for a few more days. But hopeefully all should be will. No major hiccups yet.
    more updates to come.

Oh man I wish, o percent plug and play. My buddy is helping me a lot on the wiring . I want a better understanding of it. But we are going to be using the 6gen fuse box in the 4thgen. I will definitely take close pics when it's finished for everyone's reference .

Good to see another BEAMS conversion, interesting to see the engine layout for the left hand drive car...we will have to use the brake booster from the gen6 donor car on my gen4 as its a lot slimmer, the standard one gets in the way on my car,but as yours is the other side of the firewall its not too much of an issue I assume?
Ive spoken to a couple of guys about the wiring side of things,if theres any tips ,pics, or electrical info that would help out you could post up id be very grateful ,as I say we have the donor car pretty much intact so will be looking at a lot of wiring swapping etc.
Nice job,now yours is running I bet you cant wait to start frightening the Honda community LOL

    @thesherv
I luckily had the electrical toyota bgb book for my car which helped greatly. I have lots of diagrams and notes( I need to really upload all the info I got)

400 miles later, she runs great mostly. Let see what I hate, the ricy exhaust, 2.5in from the b pipe all the way back to the muffler. I need to really add a resonator and a high flow cat to calm things down there. and that damn b pipe, It hangs below the subframe which worries me alot, just takes something stupid on the road and bam.....

What I love.. the torque, even thou its not much, its a huge improvement from before, and the car being as light as it is, really moves. It loves to rev, every gear. Just wants to go go go go, . After about 4k, just pulls. I have to really watch my speed..Wish these cars came with a engine like this.

The transmission shifts silky smooth. no grinds , every gear is perfect. Im using mobil 1 75-90
One thing I dont like is 4krpm at 80 mph. could be fixed from what i heard by using a early 90`s camry 5th gear??

Gots lot of small things to work on now,
reinstalling ac, and fitting the pusher fan, because the headers are in the way.
fitting 1st gen 3sge oil pressure sending unit,
the speedo is currently 10mph off-hopefully because I am using a sw20 mechanical speed sensor and not a st16* so the gearing is off.
figuring out why my cooling fan is always on. for whatever reason the beams ecu isnt sending it the ground signal.
    reinstalling cruise control.
fitting a shorter charcoal canister, the old one hits the air intake boot.
fitting the twin pot calipers from the st202, my worries is they wont fit the 14`s I have and Ill have to go slightly larger. and since I have racerbs rims coming my way, that would suck.
and eventually purchasing a twm short shifter, and btw the brass shifter bushings are a must upgrade.
I know I missed alot of other detailing items, but its the current project.

Was it worth it....thats a hard question....Honestly I spent about 2000 on the engine, trans, ecu, harness, etc. Lets just say another 500 on resealing the engine, belts, gaskets, etc clutch, axles, blah blah blah...
Then at the same time I replaced the radiator, got the exhaust refitted. extended wiring and spent about 3 days a week for 5 weeks on and off to finish it.

    So lets say about 3g`s.
thats just parts. luckily my buddy owns a shop and i didnt have to pay labor. he had a spare corner for me to wrench on, I did all the mechanical work and he did 90% of the electrical work and figuring out where every wire goes. oh and I did have to extend every single wire where it comes out of the fire wall about 18 inches. which took I think a 8hr day to cut, solder and shrink wrap.
So for me it was worth it. I wanted to stick to na and daily reliability. Plus have something out of the normal.

Could you go turbo and have more power for the same price...Im sure.
But it all depends what your going for, your budget, and what your gonna use it for.

other then that, I enjoy her, enjoy the greatness of the manual transmission again, which again, is really easy to swap over from automatic.
we need to get some so-cal meets on.

Nice to hear that things are going well and you are alreday on the road!

Don't forget that final gear is shorter in JDM transmissions, I think that's the cause that your speedo is off, it is the same with mine.

I started with a full 60mm exhaust system (that's only 2.25"), but it was real rough and loud for me as well. Since then, I did several mods to make it more comfortable but keep some sporty sound, but it's still not perfect. I even purchased a new middle section and rear muffler (oem ST162), but it was too quiet and rear muffler was rattling crazy so my previous open oval muffler was put back. I'm now on to purchase a muffler that's somewhere in the middle of current and the oem one, I hope It will finally be satisfying. My experience is though, that the middle section does not make much difference if you have a catalytic converter, or no difference at all (oem vs 2.25" stainless).

What is your plans to fix your speedo, I've read alot of people use the ae111 tachmometer and speedometer, excepts its in kmh, I'm sure there has to be a US toyota car that would work.

I already took care about that, there is a small lever thingy on the speedometer which is only visible if you take it apart. I'm not not 100% sure about it's true function, but you can adjust the spiral spring with it, and it did the job for me. I read about it here, so there were others using it for this purpose.
