    my car went from idling from 800rpms to 500rpms. it all happened when i degreased my engine. i might have tripped something to make this happen. i thought that the car would go back into sync but i didnt. i shakes a bit when im at a stop. it was worse but then i put some sea foam into the engine to help clean it too. it still idles at 500rpms but a little less shake. it a little smoother now. just need to know what i did and how to fix it.

    Sounds like you dropped a cylinder so do what Stig said and make sure your electronics are dry.

    ya... it can actually be a number of things..check your intake hose for leaks and see is it bypassing the airflow

    checked everything that i could. at least what i knew i could touch and be ok. so, i disconnected cap and rotor and cleaned all of that. took out my spark plugs and cleaned them too. looked into the intake pipe and cleaned that.

    so, for now i just adjusted the throttle body until my rpms went back up to 800.

    so is it running any better??? it might sound weird but i think theres a switch on mine near the water temp gauge that controls the rpm... check that if you have one...better ask mafix bout that thou!

    how do you tell the difference between the st and gt and gts?? :p

    motor
    st/gt = 3sfe
    gts = 3sge

    there is a whole lot of stuff that the gt has that the st doesnt.

    different cars guys.
    on the FE motor...i would think you've developed a vacuum leak. since you've looked on the top of the motor and found nothing, check on the power steering pump. there are 2 vacuum lines that go to it.
