He called me wile I was out looking for an air powered disk sander, He told me that last night he was driving in the rain taking a friend home and his breaks locked on him that combined with his tires sent him into an embankment. He knows is passenger side fender is boned (I have a spare for him but its a GTS/AT fender which wont match) at the time he hadn't heard from the shop on how much to fix it, I'm hoping his insurance company will give him enough to just toss that car so he can search for a GTS. I just don't want him sinking any more money into a car with such a weak motor Just putting it out there, so if any one see's a GTS word up! money may be wanting it, meanwhile I'm going to put a "wanted" ad in the Roanoke paper for a GT-S since I know 3-4 are in the area maybe some one will sell if nothing elce I can make a nemesis clone LOL
Hey guys... Went and looked at her yesterday after I called Letze. From the outside, the damage doesn't seem that bad, which is expected since I wasn't going more than 30mph. But I popped the hood and noticed the front crossmember is bent. Not much, but it is. I'm guessing the front frame has been tweaked to the left about half an inch at the most. I'd personally like to get her repaired and back on the road, considering how much money I have invested in her, and then sell her. Probably smarter to just take the money and get a GT-S, but I really can't stand the thought of this car getting crushed into a ball. Claim adjuster will be out sometime next week, and if they do decide to total it, which is pretty definite, I'm going to get as much money out of them as possible. I'm hoping for atleast $1000, considering the body is pretty much rust free and I've done about $700-800 in upgrades and repairs to the suspension. Tires were next on my list, but I was waiting to get a set of 15x6.5" wheels. Didn't make much sense to get brand new rubber for wheels that I was going to replace in just a couple weeks anyway. How very stupid that seems now. My court date is set for October 18th. I had one too many passengers in the car, because as Letze said I was doing a friend a favor and bringing her home, and a buddy of mine was coming back to my house. So thats one ticket, then another for failure to maintain control, and another for reckless driving, which I guess is standard procedure for a car crash. I'll lose my license for 30 days or so, and if I don't get any more tickets for a few months, those 3 will be wiped from my record. Blargh. It really could have been much, much worse. If the accident had happened in the turn right after the one I wrecked on, we would have gone off a very tall, tree filled cliff. Pictures of the damage will be posted as soon as I can get to a faster connection.
Sorry to hear man, glad that no one was hurt. As far as the car goes, I'd part it out if you can. Having too many people in the car is one thing, but the other tickets are bullshit. If that happened to me, I don't think I'd even get ANY tickets, it was an accident while driving the speed limit! I'v never heard of "failure to maintain" and how was it "reckless driving"? I don't know if you can afford it, but I'd get a lawyer and fight it - SERIOUSLY. -Kevin

speeding under conditions could be used. but they cant ding you with both reckless and failure to maintain heh your failure to maintain was reckless so u get 1 gl with everything hope it all works out
i had a bad acident where i miraculusly hit the telephone pole instead of ,like you said, going off a steep tree coverd hill. and they tried to screw me over with dumb tickets sorry to hear about all the bull shit sometimes it seems they're just out to fuck you over the worst when you need it the least
Claim adjuster checked out my car yesterday. No word on what I'll be getting for it, but they go by NADA value instead of blue-book, so shouldn't be getting much less than $800 (NADA values 4g's at around 1500). This weekend Doug and I are taking out the stereo and paying our respects to her, and then she'll be taken off to the crusher . Looked at a 4g 'vert for sale. White with black interior, just like Kevin's. Absolutely immaculate condition. $3500 is waay out of my price range though. Have you had any luck finding a GT-S for me, Letze? I'd prefer a liftback, but I'd take a coupe as long as it had a 3SGE and was in good shape. Gotta be a manual. Just figured I'd give you all an update. Cheers.
We can probably talk to the guy with a clean preface GT-S in roanoke... If I can remember where I saw it I'll stop by and see if they're home, no one is really "selling" but with old cars like these you can offer. It works a lot with old mustangs, people have them but don't put them up for sale until some one offers
Well, car got towed away yesterday. Letze got the sunroof, I got my stereo, and $1600 from State Farm, so that's awesome. Letze has also found a GT-S for sale, maroon liftback. Not sure about details yet, hopefully it is a manual and in good condition. If it is, I'll be getting it.
I am Willy, don't worry. I'm really hoping that GTS is what I'm looking for. I can only get online at school, and of course they have craigslist blocked, so I can't check it out myself. Has the guy called you back, Letze?
Unfortunately not yet, some times it takes a few days. thats why I prefer calling people but you never know. I'm going to spend some time next week if I dont get a call this weekend and I'll ask some locals if they would be willing to sell There is a preface 4thgen GTS champaign that looks magnificent but I have to ask them if they would sell if monkey is lucky he might!
noooo....the 2se powered cars keep getting scrapped. it hurts my feelings. i loved my 86 st good luck man :S
found and 89GT-S in need of paint but hardly any rust dunno if Doug still wants a 4th gen but if he does then there are 2 to go after, hopefully the guy with the maroon GT-S will call back his car is cleaner and has a nice stereo
Yeah, I really want that maroon GTS. It's in great shape. I'll tell Doug about that blue GTS, he just wants a 4g as a fun daily driver anyway.
