thanks steve, that's a great compliment. there's too many ricers out here in vancouver and even going through teenage years up to now, i've never liked overmodified cars. interior smells very neutral now, seems that the smoke has worked its way out. i had some scents in the car before, but it seems to have lifted itself without any upholstery cleaner the last week: - tried to order the front pipe for the exhaust (the part incl the flexpipe), both orders got cancelled due to no stock - override the hvac controls and instead of using the slider in the hvac controls, i used a DPDT switch that lets me control the air mix servo, works great! - keyless entry/immobilizer - passenger door lock fixed. seems that someone's tried to break in before. paint was chipped right under the key hole, was starting to rust. but it has been sanded/primered and painted. - trunk spare tire area rust treated and primered - street encounters 2007 civic si - they're not that fast LOL
There's nothing worse than the smell of stale smoke inside a car. Why oh why do people have to smoke inside their own cars ??? I guess they don't care about it like us enthusiasts do
Marc, that front bumper you just finished is just superb. Looking at that masterpiece is like looking back into Japan in 1988.
thanks james! 1987 you mean since it's pre-facelift stuff in the last month...since i've disappeared for a while lol. -silicone rad hoses/vacuum lines -speed source shifter bushings, shifter base bushings -super pro rear sway bar bushings (toyheadauto.com) -energy susp. front sway bar bushings -b&g springs -rear stock replacement strut (i swear rears are stiffer than fronts even before i replaced it lol) -sandblasted a lot of stuff lol next month or so: - front kyb struts...since it's easy anyways i didn't bother doing it at the same time as i was short on $$ - rustproof metal brackets and parts for alltrac kit
- met up with 187flatliner over in portland on my recent trip there, got my CSI time switch from st162rocket through him! that carbon fibre wrap on nates car is ridiculously nicer than his pics, with a kickin sound system to boot! - LHD foldable mirror bases from hungary from liontr - got me some kyb agx for the fronts! thanks eternalegacy! next week we shall have them on! - proper projector lenses + oem hid bulbs! BEFORE: AFTER: projectors: for my alltrac kit, does anyone have the front spoiler side pieces on with anything asides from that horrible metal bracket?
my gf's friends call it a racecar, random people compliment on how it still sits pretty after 25 years, and it definitely still turns heads!
where did you get he projectors? been contemplating on whether or not to the the conversion myself. tips?
i got it here: http://www.theretrofitsource.com/product_info.php?cPath=25&products_id=236 i emailed the guy (there's a few staff, i happened to get andrew) and he told me that only the mini d2s would be the direct fit to our autopal/hella whatever h4 housing, while keeping the small size. however, since the d2s projector uses d2s (same as oem) bulbs which has a different input than your generic ebay ballast, also you can't use your ebay h4 hid (which shouldn't exist in the first place). his solution was the d2h, which is the oem bulb hooked up to your generic ballast connector (amp output). the hardest part is making a front cover for the housing. the old glass won't fit when the projectors are in. so research some plexiglass shaping methods, even better is to have a vacuum form machine. also, if you ask them for the "value mini d2s" it's half price so i used my old ebay ballasts, paid 55 for the "value" projectors (which are only blemishes like the outside for example, doesn't affect output), 40 for the d2h bulbs. $95 for a proper hid beam
we got a streak of sunny days to come so out came the microfibres, clay bars, tire shine, mother's soap and carnauba wax. and the girlfriend yes. she knows how to wax cars properly. winning!
Are those the new mirror bases? Can you make some close-ups? I just don't see how it fits and what's the difference
The cables are there to hold up the lower air vents to the lip. I have no clue as to how they're supposed to be on, as not many cars even have those pieces on there. the mirrors aren't on yet, the folding mirrors are awaiting re-spray. bases are black, but my mirror housings are white, so as soon as they all get resprayed black, i'll put them on which part?
