We only got the other kind of lower side trim that doesn't extend down to the sills, doesn't look anywhere near as good. I was going to delete the mudflaps on mine anyway... hmmm.... might pop a new thread up seeing if anyone is interested is shipping me a pair of those...

The gen 7 rims do suit our Celicas very well.

like those? those ones came with my old car, and all ST and GT cars here.

Nate, for sale? my left side one needs replacing as the plastic bit where the bolt goes into has been chewed away, so it's just hanging by the other two bolts

Thanks Steve! I was originally wanting the 16" ones but i realized it's probably cheaper to get 15" tires and it kind of pays homage to my old car's twin 5-spoke wheels

updates on the pre-facelift gt-four look! bumper ready to install! 2 coats bumper primer, 4 coats of white, baked every layer. i'm hoping that it lasts!

    started with this fugly blue

primer, stuff is really sticky when sprayed, seems tar-like, seems strong would withstand debris.

Hey Hey, looking sweeeeet, nice masking job, what a PITA that must of been. I had no idea there was even a bumper primer.

Plastic primer is more flexible than regular primer, makes the paint on your bumpers less likely to crack.

Marc you have done the right thing by spraying the plastic primer under it but the four coat's
is little much two would have been good just right. But don't worry it will hold. What you have done
wrong you said you have baked every layer that should of not had happen baking only come's into
operation after fully completed spray as been done.

i've done two coats before on my rear bumper it cracked easily. it seems that canadian weather ranging from -10 to +30 does not go well with only two coats. i only "baked" it a little because the only place i have to paint is outdoors and it's only 5c during the daytime! it should do well with the temperature changes where i live.

also why is it better to only "bake" after the whole job is done?

Reason for it not to bake in between coat's is that your first coats does not get dry before you apply another over it that cause's it
to start pealing it should be tacky when applying it for it to hold. But if say you sprayed it out side at 5deg that's not baking you should be fine and two coat's will be good for any kind of weather to much also cause's it to start pealing curling you will only take notice of in a couple of month's don't take me wrong only just trying to help.Just an example why put primer for the paint to hold.

Good job ! At first I thought that was you in the pic, and thought how your hair had grown ;) It's cool that your GF is a Celica fan, does she drive it too ?

Just refreshed my memory by reading the whole thread on your Celica. Certainly has improved heaps over the year and looks absolutely superb without going overboard. Using very discreet mods and keeping the look as if it'd just come out of the factory. What does the interior smell like now ?
