i agree 600 is not bad for a running a/t. however the engine is more than likely pretty worn out, i would suggest not dumping a whole ton of money into the engine, at most a tuneup and figure out the egr/idle problem and then get a proper i/c. and save your money for the front clip swap(much much better engine in the long run)
weapon5 my car was 3 years in the making before I got it on the road, and it's still not done! But at least its somewhat on the road...hah
lol ic well i already have a time line estimated which will be 7 years till completetion unless i get the powerball lol then it'll be weeks lol too bad my luck isnt that great. ic about that 3sgte but wouldn't the 3rd gen 3sgte parts fit???
again in the states your best bet would be a 93 at or mr2 motor. 93's run 14psi stock and have the best fuel maps. 3rd gens are a nightmare to get parts for here.
a lil note, some guy in the uk made a mapable mr2 ecu, something to consider if your looking for a 3sgte
I agree with everyone here about the best plan of action for your car, best thing is to take it easy and get the small stuff worked out, 600 is a good price, i paid 2000 for mine and it was completley dissassembled. A regular 4th gen i could work over but the AT is a monster of a car to work on, if i didnt have these guys theres no way i'd be as far as i am. Mafix is a f'ing GOD he will be the main reason my car gets running and working properly i guarentee it. READ READ READ best way to learn. We've all got spare parts if you need something just hit us up. Get a good solid motor with a fair aftermarket and go from there, if your new to cars i'd suggest just getting the 1st gen GTE, IMO. You dont need the added headache of wiring stuff, but who knows. Sorry i got kinda carried away typing but atleast we all can help.
