yea so i dont have this on my motor i guess cause my brother who have some knowledge about say it was removed that why my car idel at 3k rpm so i was wondering what the hell is this and do i need it????
egr is emissions crap, unless you have aircare or something similar (or you are a treehugger) you don't need it. idling at 3k RPM means you need to adjust your adle, someone messed with it.
ya egr shouldnt effect it. u may have some vacuum problems. incorrect routing or a leak(dont know why that would up the idle). cause u cannot set your idle to 3 grand haha trust me its pretty much full and barely at 2k on mine where it is unsteady but if u want to there is a little cap on the throttle body, take that off and there will be a screw to adjust it , clockwise is down ;p id also say bad sensor but the screw and vacuum checks are the easy things to look at
i guess restoring my car it is. from body to engine to interrior yeah mo mo mo money lol this gonna be a great adventure.
well the dude who sold me this car said he remove the egr and ever since then it been idleing high like this and if you clamp the hose down with a vice grip then it won't idle so high??? so i'm not sure what it is?
clamp what hose down? if he removed the egr, its possible you have a vacuum leak somewhere that he is saying clamp the vacuum hose down and it will go back to normal( due to a vacuum leak) however it is possible that your throttle cable is to tight and is making the throttle buttefly open.
Duuude, my car idles @ like 900. If it idles @ 3000 something is not right. Even I can tell 'ya that and I know nothing. -K
I know this isn't helpful, but its alot cheaper to go get a .357 and just shoot the poor car and put it out of its misery. From everything I've read, its trashed. I really hope you didn't pay alot for it. Historic, rare or common, you shouldn't pay alot for a piece of crap. And this car is not a new to being my own mechanic car. Its tedious and extremely time consuming. (NA maybe, but not the turbo cars.)
hey its not as bad as everyone says, if you got time to work on it and a passion its worth it, you will learn a lot. 600 is very good for arunnign alltrack if the body is in good shape. for about 1500 you can get a clip off a st205 with 225hp 4wd to swap in. and for the total cost of 2100 you can have an awesome ride. just try to combine multiple topic sinto one post, i use to posed a ton wehn i first got my celica and tho I was probaby annoying toi help i learned a lot and cna pretty well fix anything on my car myself
awsome thanks dude yeah i'm learning a hell lot lol thinking this ride won't be done for a couple years but that okay the longer it takes the better right
