i think he was thinking of the american slide thing (it suits his description)

and yeah he mentioned that and it makes sense as if i turn the key fully while trying to start the car it will start after some time (usually involves several tries). but this morning i started the car right up and turned it off several times with no probs fired right up (as it should have the engine is new lol).

mitt dont flame me for the honda stuff lol just input toyota :)

this fits my car to a T lol.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. today announced a voluntary recall of certain Honda and Acura models to replace an ignition switch which may cause the engine to stall. The recall involves about 1.3 million of certain 1997 to 2000 models of Accord, Civic, Prelude, CR-V, and Odyssey. Also included in the recall are some 1999 Acura TL sedans and certain 1997 to 1999 CL coupes.

The situation is created by electrical contacts within the ignition switch that wear prematurely causing the switch to malfunction. An affected vehicle will likely experience difficulty in starting for a period of time prior to experiencing any engine stall. Normally, the vehicle can be restarted immediately.

Most customers will not experience problems with their ignition switch prior to repair -- less than 3/10ths of one percent of affected vehicles have experienced switch problems. Owners of affected vehicles will be contacted by American Honda and asked to take their vehicle to an authorized dealer to be repaired free of charge. The repair involves the replacement of the electrical contact portion of the ignition switch while retaining the original lock and key assemblies.

god i hope this is it.... and once again so simple its stupid lol

okay well that wasnt it, however its fixed. (i think:S runs anyway) after my numerus attempts to start the car the battery finally died and i took it to autozone to have it charged and they told me it needed water. so they filled it and charged it and now the car works fine. (still pauses a bit but i think that may timing.) Well we shall see if it stays running.

k now car isnt starting again :), anyone know what my voltage should be @ the plugs that go into my distro. (i get no volts even when trying to start the car.)

so i am thinking its a wire short somewhere. anyone know which of the 2 plugs actually power the distro/make it spark? and for that matter why are there 2 lol.

i am going to check fuses, ect after work.

i think this may all stem from the alarm system that was in the car before i bought it (peices of it still exist.)

heh and it only took 8 pages!

yeha electronics can be great things when they work but a major bitch when they dont. expecially when there doesnt seem to be any reason why.
