Re: My 86 GT-S. "Olga" Hey nice Celica you got there; bout time you made a members page! Nice job on the VC re-paint, looks awesome. Are you planning to paint the lettering? Can you please tell me where you got those fog lights? Those are the EXACT ones I want and the EXACT same place I was planning to mount mine, lol. What do you plan to do next to it? -Tanner
Re: My 86 GT-S. "Olga" i had planned on painting the lettering but i ran out of time and resources =[. the fogs are made by pilot motorsports, i got them at local autozone for like 20 bucks..haha. ya i love where they're mounted its a perfect spot idk what im gonna do next, nothin for a while due to having no job/money... but when i get a job i plan on a cold air or short ram intake, red optima battery, get injectors cleaned, new spark plugs, and a paint job(my paint is really bad, u cant tell in the pics though), and some rims/tires.(tired of rollin on 14's...)
Re: My 86 GT-S. "Olga" Oh that's no good haha... maybe after you buy so many parts from him, his car won't work nemore and you can jack it for the rest of the parts
Re: My 86 GT-S. "Olga" nice and clean. did you actually do the lazy eye or just cut them off in that spot?
Re: My 86 GT-S. "Olga" cut them off at that spot the car will be mechanically perfect once i fix the oil leak and p/s leak thanks for the compliments guys
Re: 86 GT-S thanks man. ya im sellin her though =[ i really want a s13 240 or an ae86, so im tryna sell her for 1500.
Re: 86 GT-S ive decided to keep it, earlier today i got to thinking, and this car pulls harder than my friends dohc ka24 s13 and many civics ive driven. heres the plans for it. replace power steering hoses to fix leak springs(1.4 or 1.6 inch drop, buying this friday!) buy MB X Five wheels i found on discount tire, i also noticed you have these wheels mafix, and they look GREAT, and they're not expensive as hell full poly bushings bigger sway bars basically build the suspension full exhaust relocate battery cold air intake im also thinking about gutting the rear of the car completely, any thoughts on this? can you even tell a difference if you do this? after all that i may save up for a 3sgte, but that wont be for a long long time
Re: 86 GT-S sounds like a good plan. I have stripped the rear of my car out, makes a small difference not huge though, as the rear seats and trim does not weight that much. The front seats are pretty heavy, maybe look for some good aftermarket bucket seats, hold you better when going round corners With the suspension upgrades, plan it all out, chances are things like drop links will be worn to hell, so they way I do it, is to get all the parts, and then do it one go if you can. less work in total. plus everytime you have the suspension apart, it will need setting up after. Best mod you can do after building the suspension... get it pro set up, makes a HUGE difference, I really cannot overstate this. You will get the best from the car, and you will find so much more enjoyment in driving it. Battery relocation and cold air box are great mods too. To get the most from your engine with the extra mods, give it a proper good service, look at items such as the dizzy cap, HT leads, etc make sure you are getting the most from your engine, before bolting on bits. Before I carried out a single mod on mine, I had a Rolling road session, this gave me two things, a base figure to build from, and the peace of mind that everything was okay. Stock mine booked at 182bhp, I got after 80k miles before any mods 178bhp. I know it sounds dull, but money and time spent making sure your motor is sound and deliverying the goods, means that when you are improving it with mods, you are sure it will make a difference. also give some thought to braking, a fluid flush, and inspection of pads / discs etc. If you plan to give it plenty round the twisties, and who wouldn't, think brakes, you need to make sure you can manage the heat from a lot of heavy braking, beat the fade and increase the good brakes and sound suspension will see you have loads more smiles per miles before you even get into power mods
Re: 86 GT-S yeah im gonna fix the minor oil leak, which seems to be coming from the front main seal, and the power steering leak, then the motor will be 100%
