So I might pick up a 2nd gen 3sgte that has bad compression in one cylinder, no ecu, no wiring...for $100....

The plan would be to completely tear it down and over the next few month's/year's eventually drop it into the celi'....what do ya think?

i bet it will rip your celica in half, not a bad idea but if your celica is rusted worse than mine was you probaby want to put it in a better shell

My celica's body isn't that bad....mostly just surface rust if anything...the car's only got 190k on it....

I'm waitin to hear back from the guy because someone might be taking it on tuesday but if they don't I'll probably end up gettin it....

  6. Off topic I know but...

You guys seem to have a huge issue with rust on the east coast. What's the deal? Just from saly ocean air?

On topic: If I could get my hands on a snd gen gte for that kind of money it would be tore down in the garage for a build up already. BUY IT!

now i dont know a whole lot...but my advice is if your getting it to strengthen up that body with some with a few refresher bars and strut bars ect....your car may not have a lot of rust but you have to keep in mind all these cars are 18 years+ and for that age metal fatigue has definatly set in.

it would be funny to watch though...clutch drop with the ebrake on and the car tears in half...

I don't know about a $100 engine, sounds like it's a waste of time IMO. As far as reinforcing the frame, Eric did a siick job on his 'trac with the custom runningboard supports.
